How-to: Get gorgeously soft-skin (especially for lazy people)

I use to be so hardworking when it comes to applying body lotion when I was in uni. 

I would apply lotion right after each bath WITHOUT FAIL,

but once I started working... 

Time? What time?*

*just an excuse. I have time to apply lotion, I'm just more of a sloth now

But then, I'm not alone!!  

A research in Europe has found that two in five people (43%) either occasionally 

or never use a body lotion because they don’t have time or don’t like the sticky feeling

Similarly in Malaysia, 70% of women do not apply body lotion every day.

I understand how they feel.

I get up later and later for work, 

and even though I regret hitting the snooze button every time,

I still sleep in every day and end up rushing like a mad woman to get to work on time.

But since I'm already in a new age category *sighs*, it's time to start really taking care of my skin again. 

But I am lazy have no time.

A lemony rawr- Double Refreshment

Last Friday, the Tiger Radler was launched!

Tiger with natural lemon juice= double refreshment.

A drink much needed especially after a long week of tiring work.

 I was so excited to be there!!

Thanks to the accident on Federal Highway,

I got there sliiightly later than expected.

Sigh.

But I didn't miss out on the fun!!

Other than having the chance to be there to witness the launch of a refreshing new drink, 

we can get prizes too!!

It's not even hard.

Everywhere you turned, there's the blue and yellow representing Tiger Radler Double Refreshment.

 One Buck Short and Kyoto Protocol were jamming like rockstars, 

making chilling after work with Tiger Radler better.

There was a DJ live spinning too.

Hello!

I don't know why the colour turn out like that even before editing.

It looks ok on my phone and on the computer screen, but when I upload it to blogger, it turns out like that. Tsk.

 Ok but at least this one with Miss Fluffy Furfer is ok. 

Finally seen her after a very long time.

A great chillax session with my group of friends is much needed after a long week of boring 9 to 5 office life, and to make the hangout session better, we have the the real lemon juice in our beer.

*refresh mode activated*

They had photo booths with lots and lots of props to pose with 

(for the I-don't-know-where-to-put-my-hands-when-taking-picture-people)

and polaroid girls there to help preserve the happy event. 

Very thoughtful of the organizers.

I'm extra happy for the photo services because my phone's camera has become near-sighted.

What to do?! [adv]

October is graduation month in UM. I've had friends who are graduating soon or just graduated asking me what they can do for a career. As a Language and Linguistic student, there isn't too wide a range of career we can venture into, so everyone is panicking.

*pulls hair*

On one hand, I'm glad that my friends are actually planning to find a job, or are actively looking for a job; on the other hand, I have no idea how to answer that question. Since I'm not really working in the same industry, I can only give suggestions and not testimony. Even the suggestions are limited, since only 2 of the seniors I know went back to the "French root".

Honestly, there are a lot of career fairs out there that are meant to help students or newly unemployed people *cough*,

and one of them is Sector Focused Career Fair or SFCF by TalentCorp Malaysia. 

SFCF UiTM was supported by more than 30 companies including some big names like DHL, Electrolux, IBM, Sime Darby and PwC. 

It was held last weekend in UiTM, Shah Alam. Since last week was their convocation week, it was logical that the Sector Focused Career Fair  happened on the same weekend. 

There was more than 4,000 turnouts that day.

 There were career talks by professionals from priority sectors, career booths, dialogue sessions where attendees get to voice out their curiosity, and other helpful activities to help university graduates better build a career plan on the shared servicing sector. 

Since it's sector focused, it's easier for those who attended find out what sector they can venture into which is relevant to their respective fields of study. No more panicking because of job issues.

They will be going to different universities so don't miss out!

Mivva September box

Thanks to Mivva I now have more products to play with!!

I was given the September Mivva box,

and are the items found inside. 

Firstly, the item which I've tried, the MIACARE clear contacts.

They're comfortable so far.

The brand is already rather well known.
I tried this and as usual, it doesn't give a sticky after-feel.

I haven't had time to try most of the items yet, so I can't do a review about the products.
But is Mivva Box worth the money?
Even with mostly samples,
we have 2 products that can cover the cost of it already.
They even asked for my power for the contact lenses.

So why not if you want to try out different products without buying the full sized item?

Alternate Rock Make Up Tutorial *UPDATED*

After doing so many "costume party make up",

I think it's time to do tutorials for something that we can use more often. 

I was thinking what look to go for for awhile now, and then this came along. 

 Converse is organizing GET LOUD Gig Tour,

and *lightbulb* 

I'm going to do an alternate "rocker" make up.

Alternate rock as in another version of rock make up,

not the genre. =X

Alternate because rather than the usual full black eyeshadow and think black eye liner "Avril Lavigne" look,

I'm rocking other colours.

Starting with a clean face.

Using a blue eyeshadow, 

draw it on your lid as if it's your eyeliner.

Flick it up slightly at the end.

 After the line is set, slowly make the flick a lot longer. 

The trick is to extend the liner a little bit pass your original eye length, then change the angle and draw it upwards, little by little. 

Draw the line towards your temples.

Draw a thin line of black eyeliner with a small flick

As you can see, the blue has gotten below the eyes too,

but it's ok. 

Here's how it looks with eyes closed.

Not messy.

Next,

I used a liquid liner with a fine tip

to draw a thin line on the frame of my eyes.

From end to end.

Make sure the line towards the inner corners are thinnest.

I smudged a little black shadow (with the blue shadow used for the eyelid) under my eyes,

blurring the black line that was just drawn.

It turns out to be smokey-ish,

but still softer than the usual rock look. 

Brush on some blush and a light lipstick.

The final step- adding false lashes.

The final look with eyes closed

 The lashes completes the overall look. 

Serious face with alternate rock make up. 

The eye make up is almost smokey,

but when eyes are closed,

everything looks clean.

Since the eyes look bold enough,

I don't want to go with a dark lipstick.

Just keep the focus on the eyes.

April Galaxy

Got my first MIVVA beauty box, which is the April edition. 

I'm always excited to receive all these beauty boxes. In modern day Forrest Gump's story would sound like:

My momma always said, life is like a beauty box, you'll never know what you'll get.

Got this beauty box 2 weeks ago and finally I have time to write a post about it. 

I got the old packaging.

First thing that caught my attention is this bubble wrap.

It's a surprise in a surprise. 

=D

If you've never tried hair chalk before, it's fairly easy to use it, but it instantly give you hay dry hair. 

I tested it and it made my hair so dry I can't even comb it and I decided not to take pictures. =(

Pretty sure it's not the brand that matters, 

it's just what hair chalk does.

And I have very dry hair to begin with. 

Next, there's the "Off with those heads" by b.liv. 

It's quite a popular brand and I've always wanted to try it,

but the price made me feel like I can live with blackheads.

So I was really glad I get to try this out.

There's O'Slee's Rosehip Beauty Solution. 

I have yet to try this, but it claims to contain 7 enhanced skin care benefits. Can be used for toning, as make up base, sooting, deep mousturizing and even as body lotion.

I've tried one pack of the Somang Keratin Silk Protein Hair shanpoo

and it was a disappointment since it says it "restores damaged hair due to frequent dye and styling".

Of course I wouldn't expect my hair to be restored after 1 use,

but it didn't make my hair feel smoother. 

Timeless Truth Charcoal Deep Whitening Mask

RM10 per piece

It prevents dark pigments, reduce freckles, moisturize, and makes your skin glow. "The bamboo charcoal powder has a proven function for cleansing and absorbing dirt."

 SF Beauty Skin Perfect Glow Sunscreen

RM125 for 30ml for 6 amazing features. Can also be used as concealer or nude makeup. 

SF Beauty Skin Remover Cleansing Gel

RM100 for 150ml

Apparently you can wash your face with this even if it's dry. It can remove make up, clean dirt from pores, and eliminates grease in 1 wash. (Can't wait to try out)

Finally we have 

Beautymate Purifying and Brightening Nano Essence

RM69.90 for 30ml

We got the full size. It states that it can effectively brighten and hydrate skin and minimize melanin and spots. Basically it's good for whitening.
