Getting ready for Shanghai Night

Hi.

I've been sick for almost 2 weeks, and not continuously.
I was sick for 1 full week, recovered for about 3 days, and fell sick for another 1 week.
Been to the doctor twice and spent almost RM150, took 12 types of meds in total,
and I'm finally slowly recovering.
For the second time.

There were nights when I coughed myself awake wtf.
I have no idea how it got so bad since I went to the doctor the next day I fell sick.

The upside of being sick: lost weight
The downside of being sick: (other than the obvious suffering): Boobs got smaller.
Sigh.

The downside of being sick when you don't stay with family: you drive yourself to the doctor, and cook your own non-instant food.

So instead of a 3 day long weekend like everyone else, I had 4 days, because I was on MC on Thursday.
But trust me, it wasn't a good weekend.
I had to avoid all oily food and cold drinks, which is basically 99% of outside food.
I avoided going out because the aircond in the car made my cough worse.

I still did went out though.
Out with my sister on Friday because she wanted to try out wedding dresses.
Yes, my sister dearest is getting married.
Sisters are always godzillas.
I argue with my sisters all the time, more with my older sister than with younger sister because of the age difference.
My sister is 3 years older and younger sister is 6 years younger.
So obviously I spent more time with the older sisterzilla growing up.
The thing is, we might argue like we're going to tear each other's faces off,
but after maybe 10 minutes, we'll be talking like normal.
I don't know if boys do that too.

I'm basically quite the "bff" with my younger sister because we don't have much time to hate each other lol.

I even wear her clothes and pretend to be same age as her. =X
Pretend young.

Anyways,
after being stuck at home for almost the whole weekend,
I've decided that I'm wasting too much time doing nothing.
I'm not sick enough to do nothing; not healthy enough to do anything life-changing/ useful,
so I decided to try out some make up and hair do for my coming company dinner.

The theme?
Shanghai Night.

I loathe the idea.
Who would like the idea of having dinner in a cheongsam?
And there's "Best Dressed" competition.
After all the food,
everyone is going to look like pregnant ladies squeezing into cheongsams that might hurt their babies.

Anyway, since the theme is set, I might as well go with the flow.
I already have a cheongsam.
So the deal was to get the props and look more 1920's Shanghai lady/ call girl, depending on my hair and make up.

I tried to go with the lady look of course.
With a fan.
I bought the fan when I was in Bangkok.
It was terribly sunny that day, and we were walking a lot, so I bought it from a stall for 20baht.

Made my nose straighter. I actually have a slight bump on the nose from this angle.

I have brown eyeshadow to line the crease of my eyes,
black gel liner from Kiss Me,
false lashes from Sasa,
lipstick in Red (10) from Bobby Brown.
With blusher too, but it's not really visible.
Contoured the nose with brown eyeshadow.
Honestly, don't waste extra money to get bronzer/ contouring powder if you're just going to contour your nose.
Find a shade of brown eyeshadow that doesn't look too fake for the nose "shadow".

I also edited my nose in all the pictures. My nose and face are not that small/ sharp/ straight in real life.

Lady enough?

 Played with the light.
I like this pic.

I posted a black and white version of this on instagram

And this is the full size and coloured one.

I'm still trying very hard to make my extensions look "normal".
They are real hair, just not mine.
Since my own hair is very, very straight, the extensions look a little off because they're wavy.
The only way to make them "blend" is second day hair, and a curler.

Stay tuned for the full version of the look, since dinner is this Friday.
Hopefully I can find those long pearl necklaces somewhere.
Should I tie my hair up into a bun? Or is this wavy look ok? Tell me!! Please?

That's what J_Fish has to say~ Au Revoir~
p.s. All pictures edited. As usual.

Flirting with lashes

All the money I've spent on mascara is just to cheat myself that I can have long flirty lashes,
so when other bloggers started reviewing lash extension service at Pink Passion The Signature Salon,
I knew I had to try it out too.

After arranging with the shop owner, Maggie,
I made an appointment for 11am, 5th November.

I was the first customer of the day because the shop opens at 11am.

I was there early because I wanted to take pictures of the shop before my session started.
I waited outside for about 15 minutes and at 11am SHARP, a lady walked over and started to unlock the metal grill outside and "set up shop".

I walked in and explained that I'm the 11am appointment and the lady replied "I know".

So while she was going around turning on the lights and air-cond,
I snapped a few pictures.

There are 3 sizes for the extensions,
the 8mm, 10mm and 12mm.

Since this is my first extension, Rainie, the lash expert said we'll start with 8mm and 10mm.

My natural lashes.

In the process to super full lashes.

And after 45 minutes,
results!

After a few days.

The lashes are not obvious from the front when I open my eyes because I always have a thick liner on.
It looks nice with eyes closed though.

You can take your time blinking.

The shop was playing really soothing music all the while.
It was relaxing other than some mosquito bites on my legs.

Probably because I was the first customer.
You know, fresh blood.

If you want to try it out,
do make an appointment with them.
Contact information and address can all be found on their FB page.
Read reviews from other bloggers there too.

If you need more details about pricing and dos and don'ts, just ask them.

An afterthought of the entire lash extension experience coming soon.
Not sure when yet, but soon.

That's what J_Fish has to say~ Au Revoir~

One post to cover them all- Movember

 Movember started with a bang!

Just kidding, not my car.
We saw this on the way back from Hennessy Artistry.

The only not-extremely blurry picture I took that whole night.
Sigh.
When it was dark, all the pictures look great.
The next morning- was I blind the whole night?
LOL

And for once, Mr Yat actually smiled at the camera.
He usually makes all sorts of weird faces.

Ok, first let's get all the selfies out of the way.

Pretending to be a teenage girl

 Red lips

New lipstick from Maybelline

 Red lips again.
Fav selfie of the month!
*cough cough*

Au naturel face at Urbanscapes.

Of course there are more.
I just want to post a few so that people know this is what I look like.

Then there are the outfit posts.
New kicks

 New white basic top

 All black outfit.
My nails actually have colourful glitter but not visible.

 Another basic top. I bought 2. =X
I like white tops because it's my lazy go-to.

Top from Milktee clothing.
Bought them really long ago but only wore it twice.

Cropped top with maxi skirt

Then comes the new products

Love this matte top coat.
It gives a new breath to the usual nail polish
Only problem is, it fades off really fast.

And then, there's food.
I'm trying to eat healthy.
Most frustrating situation I've encountered recently:
I've gained almost 5kg, most gone to my waist and some to the thighs..
When I say I've gained weight, everyone just goes "You're not fat".

Bitch I'm not saying I'm fat, I said I gained weight. FACT!
And trust me, I see my body more than you.
If I say I've become plumper, don't tell me I haven't.
I'm not asking for your opinion.

Another frustrating encounter:
You so skinny no need to eat healthy la.

Bitch what kinda logic is that?

So, even though I still eat oily food,
I try to take fruits with that.
And yogurt.

There was a surprise birthday celebration for Xi Voon,
but since it's a surprise, we couldn't rush her.
The whole meeting time was pushed back 2 hours because one problem came after another lol.
Susan was the mastermind behind this and they were suppose to just meet and have lunch.
We were all surprised, because one of our friend who went to study in Japan, Li Ee came back!!!
Everyone just went crazy for awhile there.

They kept our seats for really long, because they won't serve until everyone was there,
but in the end they let us in, because Li Ee who came alone,
have been waiting there for hours.

In the end I had to leave before the birthday girl arrived,
and luckily I saw her right when I was getting into my car.

Pretended that I happened to be there and I was leaving because I'm sending my sister to the airport (which was true).
Gave her a hug, said goodbye then left.

She later called me a liar. LOL
In a good way la.
I didn't tell her the whole truth. =X

Went to Big Hug Burgers in SS15 Subang Jaya.
It should be renamed "Big waste of time" because we waited 1 hour for 10 numbers.
And the burger is not that great.
"Big disappointment Burger"

And this ladies and gentlemen,
is how much I love Nando's.

Did you know they have delivery service?
Check the menu at the website (you need flash for that)
or call 1300886555

I have the number under "favourites".
Because... when I'm lazy and feel like eating some nicely grilled chicken,
they are who I call.

So that's mostly what happened in Movember that I haven't talked about in my previous posts.
Follow me on Dayre for more updates!!

One post to cover them all- October

New beanie!!
It's the time again!!
Only when I write monthly posts I feel that time flies.

Events in this post are not in chronological order.

The first major event in October was when Tiesto came by on Oct 5.
The crowd was crazy.
This is just one fraction of the full crowd.
There were a lot of people outside, at the entrance for ticket check and inside, in front of the stage.

I'm not a big fan of rave, but I love it.
Entering was really chaotic though.
Like I said, there was a huge crowd, and crowd control was not working at the entrance.
We didn't know where to go.
There was a sign that said males to one side and females on the other because there was supposed to be body checking (for drugs and drinks),
then the VIP is supposed to be separated,
but in the end everyone was jumbled together.

Tiesto made everything right in the end so no worries. LOL.

Continuing on the music theme,
we were invited to the Converse #GETLOUD "battle of the bands" finale.

I like this pic because it's blurry. :3

There were a few metal bands and a few rock bands.
The inside of Laundry Bar was quite crowded, making the mosh pit possible.
First time I went to a concert with crowd surfing.
Too much coolness.

The winner of the contest, the metal band Sepatu walked away with a RM15,000 prize and converse products.

So much win!!!

Next, there's the "beauty" part,
or the lack of.

I went to an event organized by Mivva Beauty Box.
The event is about aesthetics, aka "minor cosmetic procedures" aka "I did something to my face, but you can't really tell, and I didn't go under the knife".

The doctor drmonstrated what a little injection goes a long way.
Left pic is before and right pic is after the injection to the bridge of the nose.
It was a live demonstration. It only took about 15 minutes.
The girl said it didn't hurt, and there were no red marks.
A naturally straighter nose and higher bridge in 15 minutes.

After the event there was a free consultation.

This is how much it would cost for me to look prettier.

Doctor is quite cute lor. *cough cough*

After the event, not only do I feel ugly, I feel poor too.
The only way I can feel better is by saying:
I'm happy with the way I look.
LOL.

I have 10xRM200 vouchers for MCU Clinic in Sunway Pyramid to give away!!

If you're interested, leave a comment stating that you'd like one voucher and leave your email address.
Like the Facebook page for this blog too please.

Next, still about the lack of beauty.

I bought

From Sephora in Star Hill Gallery and with every purchase of a Benefit product, we were entitled to a *free brow waxing.

I have uneven brows and I thought the "professional" would help me correct it.
This was the result.

Absolutely terrible.
The worst part is the promoter kept trying to persuade me to go for another session.
Bitch please, if this is what you give me, why should I go back?
It costs RM42 mind you.
RM42 for uneven brows?
I can do better.

But things get better.
My fringe is now long enough to cover my eyebrows,
so it's not that bad anymore.
When I don't draw my brows, they still look very ugly though.

I bought the ring above about 2 weeks ago,
and I've lost it.
I'm a champion at making things disappear. *poof*
I love that ring dammit, please come back.
T^T

Had a dinner session with my bitch, Jason at Bangsar.
Once in awhile I like to pretend atas and eat at Bangsar.
Guess where?

Next,
my make up posts.

This month I have 2 posts, so little compared to last year's Halloween inspired posts. =(
I've been really lazy.

And, to wrap up the month of October,
here's a pic of my newly bought white basic top from the newly opened H&M of 1U

before it was hit by the curse of white T-Shirts.
It now has 2 streaks of yellowish line and a few yellow dots on it.
I assume from the honey of the Lemon Meringue Pie. =(

That's what J_Fish has to say~ Au Revoir~
