Panoramas of my Bangkok trip

I've been so lazy to do anything lately I even used an obvious title.

So here are all the panorama pics that I took with my phone for my trip to Bangkok 2 weeks ago.
First day and day 4 and 5 were shopping day so no time to take pics!!! LOL

So here are the pics from day 2 and 3.
5th day was goodbye day so no panorama pics too.

We took a "tour" to Ayuthaya, the Melaka of Thai.
The above pictures were from different historical sites and temples.
It was interesting to find that 99% of the figures were decapitated while the rest of the bodies were fully intact,
even for the carvings in stone.

It was scorching hot but the trip was interesting and quite worth the money.
It costed us 3500baht for 3 for the entire trip (which took 1 whole day) including transport to all the places and Chocolate Ville,
as pictured below.

Part of the view from top of the lighthouse in Chocolate Ville, a little outside Bangkok City.
A wonderful place to take pics and just chill after a long day's walk.

Then we went to the Grand Palace, as pictured below.

We're not allowed to enter it other than the museums at the bottom.
It featured badass looking weapons they used in their past wars, but we weren't allowed to take pictures.

The Grand Palace is connected to Wat Phra Kaew.

A picture taken while on the Chao Phraya River, on the way to Asiatique, an open air concept shopping place.

I'll be updating about the trip later, though not sure how far later since next week is quite packed for me. Maybe I'll find time while I'm procrastinating. =p

If there's anything that you would like me to elaborate on, tell me and I'll make it a post instead of (probably) jumbling the whole trip into 1 post.

That's what J_Fish has to say~ Au Revoir~

Memories from Paris (part 1)

So,
after more than 2 years from my trip to France,
I've finally decided to take time to do a few posts about Paris.

I can't remember much of our itinerary,
but I'll just add captions to the pics
as of how I remember them.

First,

A walk in Jardin du Luxembourg.
It was cold,
and there was nothing there.
We just went in a little,
and walked out again.

No captions needed for the next few pics.
But,

One does not simply go to Paris
and not take pics of La Tour Eiffel.

Now you see me
 Now you don't

爱在巴黎的塞纳河畔上面眺望
赶不上的玻璃船

梁静茹-我喜欢

That was a boat on La Seine
with La Tour as the background.

I was standing on one of the many bridges.

Next,
Photobomb level:
Toilet sign.

The nearest to the top of La Tour Eiffel I've ever gotten.

This was taken from under the tower.

Notre-dame du Paris on
a carousel in Paris,
how more beautiful can it be?

And the infamous
Moulin Rouge.
We didn't go in. (Unfortunately)
But from the outside,
you can see pictures of the "dancers".

Voulez-vous coucher avec moi? =p
Just quoting the song.

Sacre-coeur.

The back of the Lady of Liberty
of Paris.

She was quite a long walk away from the Eiffel Tower,
but I just had to see her.
No idea why I didn't take a pic of the front....

There's actually another replica of the Lady
in the Luxembourg Garden,
but we didn't go deep enough to see it,
and I didn't know until I was back here.

So that's all for part 1.
Part 2 will be more on daytime pics
and the other side of Paris.

=)

Bkk Day 4- The Sight-seeing Day / The SS Day / The Bags Day

The visit to The Grand Palace.
In front of the ticketing counter,
the soldiers marched pass.

Shiah looks grumpy here.
Probably because there was sun and rain at the same time.

The bells at the top
(look closely and you'll see them)
make a very nice tinkling sound.

The side of the Grand Palace.
The Grand palace with the ball shaped trees.
The trees make this place look like Disney Land.
(Not that I've been to any Disney Land before........)

No comment about the Grand Palace.
I don't wanna offend anyone. =P

Entrance fee is 350baht
for 3 places.

But we only went to the palace.

(because we were the auntay gang.)
Every 5 minutes of walking we have to sit down somewhere.
=p
Or whenever we see somewhere to sit
we'd automatically walk towards that direction.

But you know what,
we can't be blamed.
It was scorching hot that day,
and before the sun climb out from behind the temple,
it was drizzling.
Poor other auntays..

(Aunties are probably fitter than us.)

Anyway,
if you like to admire building structures,
museums,
temples,
you should visit the place.

After the Grand Palace,
we went to see the reclining Buddha.

The ferry to the Grand Palace is 14 bahts.
We walked to the temple of the Reclining Buddha a.k.a Wat Pho.
(Quite far actually, especially under the sun.)

Note:
Remember to wear sleeved t-shirts and long pants.
Sandals are fine.

If you don't wear those you can actually borrow them from the temples.
(But they might look weird, floral print and all)

Next,

Showing off the ring. I LOVE it.

Bought at Platinum mall, 5th floor,
You can mix any 3 things for 35 bahts.

Nails done at Platinum mall
(mentioned in previous post)
It looks nice from afar.

T-shirt from Platinum mall
150 baht.
We bought 6 (I think) in total
so they gave "discount"
it was 200 baht each.

Earings from MBK.
25 baht each.
Again,
if you buy more you can ask for discount.
We bought 3 pairs,
so the stall keeper gave us discount.

There. Those pics should explain the second part of the post title.

Moving on,
After the temple,
we went to MBK (mall).

The stuff there were NOT cheap.
Price wise.

EXCEPT
the bags.

The bag shops seem to be on sale at the same time when we were there.

Nothing else was worth a buy,
because it was the same price as Malaysia stuff.

The DVDs are quite affordable,
but I didn't buy any.
I prefer my external.

MBK is quite near to Siam Paragon and Siam Center.
We walked there by the overhead bridge.
Siam Center and Siam Paragon are connected.

FYI,
Siam Paragon is equivalent to Pavilion KL.
Just bigger and more exquisite.
but a lot less crowded.

Students, tourists, families, couples,
you name it, they have it.

One thing that keeps catching our attention
was the students' uniforms.

Some of them wore long, beggy, over-the-knee skirts
some wore tight (when I say tight I mean panty-line-obvious-tight) pencil skirts and high heels.

Finally we figured out that
the tight pencil skirts are for university students.

I don't know how I would react if I went to study in Thailand.

Anyway,

That was considered our last day in Bkk.
The next day we just took breakfast and went to the airport,
no pictures,
so not gonna write a post about that.

Conclusion for the whole trip?
Total for transportation : 335   baht +-
Total for food                 : 1117 baht +-
Total for clothing            : 940   baht +-
Total for other stuff         : 964   baht +-
Total for entrance           : 650   baht +-
Total for services           : 450   baht +-
Total for bags                 : 959   baht +-
Total for misc                  : 1001 bath +-

Total for experience, memories and lotsa love : Priceless.

Next trip? Bali?

Krabi? Sabah? Hong Kong? Taiwan? The moon?
Let's start saving.

Yes, I'm talking to myself.

that's what J_Fish has to say~ Au Revoir~

p.s. Had a great day today. How was your weekend?

Bkk Day 3- T-Shirt Day!!

I wore the car T that I bought the day before at Chatuchak.

The day we went to Platinum Mall.
IMPORTANT: If you plan to shop at Platinum mall,
go early.
Although most of the websites show that it open's till 10pm,
the shops closed at 7pm when we were there.

Lunch
Steed Meat.
At first I didn't understand,
but then it dawned on me that steed is another way to say "horse".

Taste good actually.
It taste like beef,
but more tender and softer.

 Tea time at Swensen's.
 Fully FULL. =(
Meaning more time to SS!! XD

I bought this T (with Voon). It's the best seller of the shop.
I guess you can guess why.
The post is called t-shirt day coz I bought 3 T-shirts that day.
They have a lot of t-shirt shops in Platinum Mall.

Other than that,
they sell wigs,
bags,
shoes,
accessories,
souvenirs
men/women/children attire,
etc.

Food court is at 6th floor.
Platinum mall is basically the Bangkok version of Sungai Wang,
but if you buy a lot (3 or above)
you'll get wholesale prices.
Of course sometimes you still have to bargain with them.

They usually count 3 things and above as wholesale,
but some shops consider 2 and above,
some shops more.
Ask the shop keeper to be sure.

The shop keepers are not the nicest people,
so don't be offended if they're rude to you.
You're not alone.

 Still at Swensen's
 Fondue!!

I got my first manicure there.
Didn't take any pictures because it was FUGLY.
I can paint better wth.
It was a waste of my 250baht.

But a new experience. =)
If you happen to go there
and wants to try the manicure
(there's only one stall I think, it's by the escalator)
DON'T GO TO THE YOUNGER LOOKING GIRL.

Coz she sucks.

After that we went to Baiyoke Tower II.
The highest building in Bangkok.
Reminds me of Eiffel,
the night view I mean.

Baiyoke Tower II is about 10mins walk from Platinum mall.
Once you exit the mall,
you'll see the tower.
Just walk towards it.

The trishaw auntay
The tut tut on display.
It doesn't say "do not sit".
So we sat. =P

From the top of the tower
There's this LED screen thing on top of the tower

We are this far away from home.
Well I'm probably half the distance away from home,
and Jye Ming is probably 1 1/2 the distance away from home.
Coz it say's Kuala Lumpur.

The top of the tower is revolving by the way
and it was super windy.

If you love Pina Colada~ and getting caught in the rain.

After we got down from the revolving part,
we went to the lounge for the complimentary drink.
Any drink from the menu.
Even if it's alcoholic.

that's what J_Fish has to say for day 3~ Au Revoir~

p.s. Ticket for Baiyoke Tower II is 250baht plus free drink.
