How-to: Get gorgeously soft-skin (especially for lazy people)

I use to be so hardworking when it comes to applying body lotion when I was in uni.
I would apply lotion right after each bath WITHOUT FAIL,
but once I started working...

Time? What time?*

*just an excuse. I have time to apply lotion, I'm just more of a sloth now

But then, I'm not alone!!

A research in Europe has found that two in five people (43%) either occasionally
or never use a body lotion because they don’t have time or don’t like the sticky feeling
Similarly in Malaysia, 70% of women do not apply body lotion every day.

I understand how they feel.
(Because I'm one of them)

I get up later and later for work,
and even though I regret hitting the snooze button every time,
I still sleep in every day and end up rushing like a mad woman to get to work on time.

But since I'm already in a new age category *sighs*, it's time to start really taking care of my skin again.
But I am lazy have no time.

NOT.

"NIVEA launches breakthrough innovation in body moisturization
- the 1st rinse-off body lotion"

Now thanks to NIVEA, I'm going to have smooth skin with almost no extra effort.
All I need to do is apply the NIVEA In-shower Skin Moisturizer when I take my bath.

I do it while waiting for my hair moisturizer to set.
*Queen of cutting corners*

A smart person cut corners but will still get good skin. =P

The 4 steps to gorgeous skin for my kind of people.

Flirting with lashes

All the money I've spent on mascara is just to cheat myself that I can have long flirty lashes,
so when other bloggers started reviewing lash extension service at Pink Passion The Signature Salon,
I knew I had to try it out too.

After arranging with the shop owner, Maggie,
I made an appointment for 11am, 5th November.

I was the first customer of the day because the shop opens at 11am.

I was there early because I wanted to take pictures of the shop before my session started.
I waited outside for about 15 minutes and at 11am SHARP, a lady walked over and started to unlock the metal grill outside and "set up shop".

I walked in and explained that I'm the 11am appointment and the lady replied "I know".

So while she was going around turning on the lights and air-cond,
I snapped a few pictures.

There are 3 sizes for the extensions,
the 8mm, 10mm and 12mm.

Since this is my first extension, Rainie, the lash expert said we'll start with 8mm and 10mm.

My natural lashes.

In the process to super full lashes.

And after 45 minutes,
results!

After a few days.

The lashes are not obvious from the front when I open my eyes because I always have a thick liner on.
It looks nice with eyes closed though.

You can take your time blinking.

The shop was playing really soothing music all the while.
It was relaxing other than some mosquito bites on my legs.

Probably because I was the first customer.
You know, fresh blood.

If you want to try it out,
do make an appointment with them.
Contact information and address can all be found on their FB page.
Read reviews from other bloggers there too.

If you need more details about pricing and dos and don'ts, just ask them.

An afterthought of the entire lash extension experience coming soon.
Not sure when yet, but soon.

That's what J_Fish has to say~ Au Revoir~
I believe in giving honest reviews

My Online Dayre

I don't usually update my blog with gadget/ app entries,
but when I do,
it's because I adore it.
A lot.

If you haven't know yet, there's an app called Dayre.
(Pronounced Day-ree)

To me, it's an online diary.
If you're saying "Why do I need this? I already have a blog."
Well, a blog is more of an after event update platform.

"Dayre, is an on-the-spot update for daily events."
*pretending this is Dayre*

You can either choose to update on past events, like how you update your blog, or you can update Dayre when something is actually happening.

There are 5 ways you can update it, as seen on the picture above.
You can write sentences (which can also appear as quote),
update with picture and caption,
upload a video,
update with cute emoticon/"stickers",
and for those who want people to know where they are at all times, there's the check-in.

I prefer updating Dayre more than my blog because, when you become lazy, Dayre is the convenient way out.
Since the layout is the same for everyone, no more wasting spending time customising. Pure updates!
It's an answered prayer of people with no talent with designing.

You can make several different short updates per day,
and all your updates will be shown under the same day, hence, a "diary".

Absolutely love it.
I update it more than Instagram,
because I don't like to post pictures of words on Instagram.

And if you have a "eureka!!!" moment,
instead of the 140 characters on Twitter,
updating it on Dayre would be easier,
since it allows 500 characters.
I hate rephrasing my sentences 324643792649 times just so that I don't have to split my tweet.

I share pictures and thoughts mostly.

The app does get a little PMS-y sometimes, and you have to logout and login again for it to update properly,
but it's not that bad.

On a separate note,

And thanks to Tiger Beer and Nuffnang,
I'm going to Urbanscapes!!
FYI, Urbanscapes is an event/ festival where all forms of art jam together and come alive.
Food, music, fashion, humour, beautiful people, all in one place.
:3

Weekend passes are priced at RM247 which gives you access to The Big Weekend.

If you're worried about transport,
there are SkyBuses going to MAEPS from KL Central with a fee of RM20 one way, starting from 1.30pm,
and from MAEPS to KL Central starting from 11pm.

I'm really excited to see Red Hong Yi, the absolutely talented artist there.
(maybe nick a few bites off her art work *cough*)

Franz Ferdinand will be the final act to wrap up the entire (already beautiful) weekend!
Check the Urbanscapes website if you need more info!

Follow my Dayre or Instagram for more (live) updates!
I'm going both days!

If you see someone that kinda looks like the person in pictures on this blog,
but with a "slightly" rounder face,
it might be me.

don't say hi because I'll look stuck-up and unfriendly so no point.
*runs away*

#makeurbanscapeepic!

Better sleep early tonight, because

EPIC WEEKEND COMING THROUGH!!

Furless threesome

It's meant to sound wrong.
You clicked because well,
you have a good imagination.

It was my first time waxing,
but I was fortunate enough to get it for free.
Yes, who doesn't like free beneficial stuff?

The place: Furless in JayaOne

It's behind/ next to Duck King depending on where you're coming from.

I was so overwhelmed by my experience that I forgot to take picture.
--_____________--lll

Such a good blogger right.

Thus the result.
All photos from their FB page. (Click!!)

The shop assistants and the boss were really friendly.
I got there early,
so the boss chatted with us.

She explained that their products are what we would call
the good stuff,
which means less pain, more satisfaction.
=D

Notice, it's LESS pain, not painless.
It would be an obvious lie if someone said waxing was utterly painless.
Imagine pulling off chunks of your hair,
but at Furless, it's less pain.

I was pretty nervous,
because well, it was my first time pulling hair off with wax,
and it's well, down where the sun don't usually shine.

Because just like hair on your head,
hair everywhere else don't come in 1 type or form.
Some are longer, some shorter, some coarser, some fine, etc
They use 3 different types of wax,
and the heat is adjustable.

The whole process was interactive,
because I'm guessing they won't want the people waiting outside
to be terrified over the screams caused by wax that's too hot,
or the pulling off that's too brutal.

I'm quite good at guessing you see.

Don't be shy to tell the person if the wax is too hot.
You don't want burnt parts, especially, well, you-know-where.

But the best part of this waxing treatment is that after the hot waxing,
there's a cooling mask which will take the pain away.
=D

I shall not comment on how much pain it was,
because how much pain one can take is highly subjective.
And it depends on where you wax too.

For example I have 7 ear piercings,
but I can't stand plucking eyebrows. =/

Well I could say that the pain of waxing is different from the 2 mentioned above.

I managed to go to a tea party right after the waxing though,
so you have a rough idea.

If you want to try waxing on any part of your body,
go to Furless,
BECAUSE

If you're first timer there and you say my name:
SHER LYNN

You'll get 50% off!! =D

Say my name say my name~

AND

If you just want to try it,
check out the prices here.

Do call and ask(click for contact) them if you have ANY related questions or to make appointments.
Make sure you make appointments and don't be late~!!

Pink hair and self loving

So I got hair extensions.

Having fun with my new hair.

Tried to mimic this hot dream girl of someone.

Close enough?

My loves.
My shocking pink hair and my eyes.
I feel like a doll in this picture.

I got the hair extensions from Ridz Okumura,
a saloon in Impian Meridian USJ 1,
the condominium just behind the Summit.

I wasn't pleased with the wait.

Made an appointment for 6.30pm
and had to wait till 7.45 to finally sit on the stool.

I'm happy with the people working there though.
They're nice and friendly.

Rarely would I talk to strangers.

But with them,
I talked a lot,
in BM summore.

I fail at speaking BM coz I've been in a Chinese school since kindy.

Anyway,
I felt conned for this.

I got the deal from Groupon which costs RM99 for 30 bundles.
When the person started to explain the price,
I found out that 30 bundle is enough

if you want to fix a bald patch.

In the end I had to take 110 bundles,
adding RM199 to the bill.

My head is not a fertile place,
so I only needed 110 bundles.

For those who have a lot of hair,
it's gonna cost waaaaaaaaaaaaaay more.

I saw pink extensions there,
So I asked for them.

It was RM5 for each bundle.

Since I'm going to try something new,
I went all out.
(And took 5 bundles. XD)

I hated pink,
but I like it like this.

If you want to get hair extensions,
I think they're still offering it at RM99 for 30 bundles,
even without groupon.

Ask for their contact if you're interested. =)

The downside is that it hurts for the first night when you sleep.
And it's hard to wash your hair properly.

Comb hair with caution.

That's what J_Fish has to say~ Au Revoir~
p.s. I love the new hair coz I think I look a lot more feminine with it. But from the comments I got, they were just neutral. What do you think?

Have you liked my FB page? =)

The Hunger Games

Watch the trailer first and my review would make more sense.

Yes, The Hunger Games is coming out in cinemas today.
But I've watched it yesterday.

Lucky me. =D

Thanks to Benjamin
I get to watch the movie before it's on cinemas,
and gain readers for the review.
Yay.

And thanks to Nuffnang for giving him the tickets.
(and not giving them to me. sour)

Well,
The Hunger Games is actually a very cruel and brutal reality show
that chooses 2 (teenage) "tributes" from 12 districts each
to fight till death.
Only one will win.
The more popular cast.

Though Liam Hemsworth (far right) was more of a minor role here.
Still prefer his brother.

Oh you dunno his brother?
Chris Hemsworth.
a.k.a The hunkalicious Thor.

Back to the movie.

So this girl in the poster, Katniss Everdeen
volunteered to join the Hunger Games
because her sister was picked.

She knew her sister would not survive
(she looks like a normal little girl)
so she volunteered
because she's stronger.
Both physically and mentally.

A guy (Peeta Mellark) was also chosen from the same district
(district 12).

After saying super brief goodbyes,
off they go to the Capitol
where the people dress up like
they don't have a mirror.

And there,
they meet the tributes from other districts,
and impress the audience from the Capitol
so that people will sponsor them useful items
when they're in the game.

With the help of fellow District twelvian
the forever slightly or terribly drunk Haymitch
who was once the champion,
they venture into the forest
and start their fight for survival
after some training in combat
and an interview to get the attention of sponsors.

The film has it's ups and downs.

You would expect the movie to be an action flick,
but that's only half of it.
The second half.

The first half is more on talking,
which is important to explain the whole wooha to you.

There were snooze-buttonish times
when they get sentimental before the game,

but when the game is on

THE GAME IS ON.

People get killed like mosquitoes in the Hunger Games.

And to increase the show's rating,
the producers of the reality show could add stuff to the game.

So basically the tribute's lives
depend not only on their survival skills,
their wit,
their strength,
the mercy of other tributes
but also
the mercy of the show's producer.

There are suspense moments that were laid out very well.

I would have been sweating from suspense
if the air cond wasn't so cold.

There were mixed feedback,
so I guess you have to watch it
to say if you like it.

There was a slight twist somewhere in the middle,
which was untwisted
and twisted again.

And there was a love triangle
between Katniss, Peeta
and Liam Hemsworth's character
which I dun remember the name.

Because he was not important.

Katniss was first in love with LH's character,
but when you're stuck in a killing spree
and you only know one person
who is of the opposite sex,
weird things happen.
=/

Conclusion?

Watch it,
I'd say.

The Woman In Black

The movie is wicked scary.
I went to watch if because of Daniel Radcliffe...

And I regretted like crazy when I was going through it.
Coz I've stopped being a fan of horror movies
since a few years ago.

These three girls were in the first scene.
They died.

How and why
you will know when you watch it.

Had to search for a few pictures to show here
and I'm reliving the scare.
=(

Anyway,
it's a nice movie.

Because I closed my eyes whenever I sense a scare coming.

It's about a man (Daniel Radcliffe a.k.a Arthur Kipps)
who works in a law firm
and who is sent to a small village for work.

In that village
there is a rumour/curse about a woman in black.

and well she's the root of all horrors.
Other than the creepy toys that one boy has in that creepy house
Arthur had to work in.

Why would people give such creepy toys to kids
I will never know. =/

With the help and (en)courage(ment)
of another villager,
Sam,
Arthur tries to finish his work
in the creepy mansion on an island.

(Like creepy mansion isn't scary enough
it's on an island that's reachable through a road
that would be covered when the tide comes in)

And there he encounters that lady in black.

As the story unfolds,
you will know who the lady is
and why is she so scary.

My eyes were closed for almost 30% of the movie.
Because I was too much of a chicken
to face the horror like a (wo)man.

Remind you of some other movie?

Anyway,
the movie was all scary because of the sound effect.

After I got out of the cinema,
everything was fine.
Maybe cause the target were children,
and pedobear disapproves me.
=(

Maybe cause something else was running through my head.

I was scared again
when I was searching for pictures for this post.
because all the pictures are so scary. T^T

I guess I'm actually a big fan of his
because I wouldn't watch a horror movie otherwise.
=/

It's overall a nice movie,
but I don't like the ending.

It's not a movie for those who are easily freaked out/has a good imagination.

That's what J_Fish has to say~ Au Revoir~
p.s. I just hope the darn lady wouldn't scream so much.
