A trip down profile picture lane

I have no idea why but while I was preparing to start doing my freelance work, I decided to click on my profile picture, and continue clicking next until I had the idea of doing this post. Ok so I know exactly why I clicked on the picture. Procrastination. There, I said it. I wanted to make this post because there were so many pictures which brought back so much memories... And also of procrastination. 

So let's start from more recent ones to the oldest ones. Only selected few are shown here. Don't worry. 

 The first and only time I tried the "too short fringe" "edgy" look. 

My first time "modelling" for an online shop.

We drove to Putrajaya really early on a Sunday morning just to have rain for almost 1 hour.

In the end we decided to F*ck it and just start shooting, and it just stopped raining lol.

Playing with cam and make up. When I still had long hair. (Which I miss so, so much) I used to try taking self-portraits in my room, when I didn't have a roommate. Good times. 

The Henessy Artistry Finale of 2012 Absolutely LOVE this pic! And that's my tongue btw. Probably one of the best HAs that I went to. The one that I got terribly drunk at. So glamorous. I was from then on, remembered as the girl who marked her territory. 

Hey, how you doin? I use to love playing with make up so much. 

 When I first learned Adobe Illustrator. I had purple and red hair in real life then, hence the purple and red "ombre" hair for my character.

My make up self!! I miss you so much, you stupid kid!

Black hair, brown eyebrows, but my face was so skinny that time I forgive myself. 

 Oh I love this phase so much! This was when I first got my first experience with hair extensions. I even have a bunch of hot pink hair! 

 From the comments of this pic, it says that I changed it to this pic because my parents were complaining about my other profile pictures being too fierce.

I was trying to be "sweet" in this pic, and dad approves, so it's all good.

 Told you I use to like to play with make up. My colleague edited one of the pics into this. My skin is absolutely flawless here unlike my skin in real life. 

It's red lipstick and eyeliner

 I love how my eyes looked in this pic. I can't get this look no matter how much I tried. *sigh*

Named the pic "cow harassment". This was the day right after the second Where's The Party 2011(?)

If you click and enlarge it, you can see that I have a sun "tattoo" on my neck.

One of the ideas I would go for if I ever get a tattoo.

That's the moo cow statue in The Gardens Mall. Use to love Moo Cow so much!

I used to be this skinny. *sigh*

And again, self-portrait in the first room I ever rented.

The room was really, really big. There was room for 2 queen size beds, a built in 5 door cupboard, and then some.

I bought the wall stickers for the background. 

Hair is extensions. 

I did the duck face before... it was even called the duck face, and briefly used it as my profile pic. This was way back in 2011. 

 Yes, I used to have crazy hair. But that was because of bad perming. 

 Never got over how much I love this picture. That was the first time I ever went out with Shii Teck, who introduced me to my current group of blogger friends.

My life would be so different without him. =)

This pic and the one below are both self-portraits. 

I used my Samsung Galaxy Ace, set timers and skid over the floor just to pose like it's cool. 

Been to uni, graduated!

Hair extensions my friend bought back from China. And my Samsung Galaxy Ace. When we could still change the casing of our phones. 

Erm, I used to be... cute. Wig from Taobao. I threw it away because it got so tangled up in the end it's impossible to use anymore, despite the fact that I bought a wig stand for it. =(

This was for a game. When I first joined my company.

Erm, more cute pics I guess. I use to edit my face so much I become a porcelain doll. 

When I was in uni, I wore blue contact lenses, had light brown hair and loved it, and dotted my zits to make them look like moles because moles are sexier than zits.

Deceptions I give myself.

This was my first ever "photoshoot". Basically went to Penang Island with my friends and laid on the Padang Kota and pretended to be models. My favourite pic of that trip. The rest were... not so worth looking at. lol

 For cartoon week or something along the lines. My favourite character in Slam Dunk. <3 p="">

My dear, dear, no.7 who I assume uses 1 jar of hair gel per day.

Hand painted sneakers. 

Yes, I used to pait my own shoes.

I always went to Bata and got the North Star RM39.90 pair of white school shoes

and just paint on it!!

And I used to paint the name of my crush into my shoes, and all sorts of other things that I paint. =P

The other pics which I used as profile pics are mostly camwhore ones that don't really bring back significant memories, and most of them are not very flattering lol. Too high angle ones, mostly.

Easy, A

It's a play of words with the movie title Easy A, you know, with Emma Stone in it. (LOVE IT, LOVE HER).

"A" here is a man whom I've known for a few years now, but rarely had the chance (or need) to talk to, until very recently. Ok, let's call him MISTER A, out of respect. (Or as the oh-so-me would put it, Mr A).

(Had to pause writing and finish my lives in Candy Crush because I'm easily distracted. FMAttentionSpan.)

So, back to Mr A. He is someone who has a lot of life knowledge that he is always ready to share, BUT he always could twist those lessons back towards himself in the end and make it work for him. I'm just going to share some of that here.

(Had to pause writing and tried to learn "The Way You Look Tonight" on the uku. FMAP 2. Hopefully there's no 3.)

1. People only have 30 thousand days on earth, no more, no less. (No idea how he explains those people who die young) No matter if you're happy or sad, 30k will be 30 k. (Live it well).
2. We use our first 10 thousand days to learn, the second 10k days to use what we learned, and the last 10k days to reap what we sowed.
3. That's why we have to learn as much as we can. Don't wait till working hours to learn (about work related stuff), even weekends should be fully used for learning (work related stuff).
4. We have to keep pushing ourselves, keep learning. Make full use of our lives.
5. When the 30k days are up, make sure that you can say that you have lived a good life. Make sure you won't regret because you did nothing your entire life.

Here's what he actually means: OT FYL. (Even though the work concerned is not urgent) Wait, what life, life is for people who are in their final 10k days.

Well, if you're thinking that I'm a lazy person, I do learn after working hours, just that I would like to learn something that's unrelated to work. It might or might not help me earn a lot of money, but I'm sure I would be happier than to spend my entire 20k days ONLY doing work related stuff. If the work is urgent and it's my responsibility to finish it, then I would OT. But I finish my work very fast so that never needed to happen. If it's not urgent, why would I need to OT? I plan my time well enough to avoid that.

Not everyone wants to be a millionair you know. Some of us are just content with having a simple life.

I'm not saying I don't want to learn about work, but if it's about filling myself with knowledge, it might as well get in line.

ALSO, I would like to be more focused if it's learning about work. I've been learning to be a translator and copywriter, and now I'm doing something entirely different. If it's about learning, I think I should more or less master something before moving on, if not I would feel that all my life I've never accomplished something and just gave up half way through. How else would I be able to answer myself when the 30k days is up?

We all have our own way of life, so I didn't answer back, out of respect, out of fear, because I don't want to step on toes. Some of his life lessons are worth pennies.

The lesson learned: Take the advice, decide which are the ones that you actually want to keep. Discard the rest, or write it down for the future you. Maybe you'll see things differently when you're his age. Maybe not. Discard then.

Did pause again to play games on my phone, chat on FB, and blanked out awhile so FMAP 3, 4 and 5. Not too bad.

Open Crisis

I saw a post opportunity and I took it. 

Also, it's Friday!!! And there's gossip.

MUAHAHAHAHA

Just kidding. I saw a friend being cyberbullied. So... I recorded everything "sent to all". =X

I received an email from a company offering a small fee for a 200 character (please note: character, not word) review with 5 photos. 

*All names of bloggers, email addresses, and the company name is not shown to avoid future legal actions, which you will read about in the pictures below.

The first email received. Sent to 300+ people, with all emails visible to everyone. Date and time of email is incorrect. Gmail screw up I suppose.

And a final clarification email from the said PR/ company.

I have a few things to say before I end this post:

1. PRIVACY is so important to a certain blogger that when "they" reply to all, "they" forgot "they" also spread the emails of everyone to everyone. 

In my honest opinion,

just because someone did it first doesn't give you exemption from being punished, you're just an accomplice. Since the person's blog does take money in exchange for blogposts, does it mean said blogger can be charged under the same act which "they" have brought up?

2. No point attacking the person for her PR skills because it does not affect the recipient of the email in any way. I don't think anyone will be terribly affected after reading an email with errors. It just affects the company's reputation, which is none of our business.

3. Grammatical mistakes happen, even for people who are very careful. Before you point out the mistakes of others, please make sure that you constantly practice near perfect grammar. I sent out an email about this incident, proof-read it before and after lunch, and yet there was an error. (If anyone received the email noticed) I didn't realize until a fellow blogger pointed it out to me (in private). 

4. Just because you think someone isn't professional enough, doesn't mean you have to stoop low. Being rude to someone who is not rude to you but angered you because of something out of the person's control, is stooping low.

5.Exposing P&C information, especially when you know it's P&C reveals how much a professional you are. NOT. 

6. For the final angry reply: Most of the recipients have acknowledged and understood the company involved gives bad rates. So what is the purpose of that angry reply? To show off that you've worked with many companies and have considerably high traffic? Mind you, there are bloggers in the list who are more popular and did not rant about all that. 

Or are you just captain obvious in disguise?

7. I believe that every company have the right to set their own guideline for what is considered high/ low traffic count. It's like how everyone has a different perspective of beauty. If you want to tell the company where to set the bar, become a shareholder maybe? =D

8. If you're unhappy with the payment offered by an organisation/ company/ or even an individual, ignore it, reject it, add them into a blacklist and spread it among your friends. Giving the PR a hard time doesn't get you anywhere. It just shows what kind of person you are (psst... Not a nice one).

even if you're angry and must express your unhappiness,

stay classy.

So,
I think everyone would have imagined that they could become
a super hero,
either when they were a kid,
or they still do.

Well I still do.

Especially when The Avengers is coming to our cinemas soon.

I want to save the world.
Literally.

 Captain Wonder Planet

It's lame because I want to be the hot version of Captain Planet.
So I stole Wonder Woman's "Wonder".
*cough*boobs*cough*

How I'm going to grow green long hair and bigger boobs when I turn into a superhero
I have yet to figure out.
But IT WILL HAPPEN!!

No mask is needed coz I don't have green long hair or boobs that big.

So I'm basically Captain Planet with long hair *cough*and big boobs*cough*

The dress would be dark green with blue lining.

If you don't know who Captain Planet is,
you're either old,
or very young.

There.

So what can Captain Wonder Planet do?

Well,
since from the drawings you can see
she wears a low cut short dress.

As you would probably have noticed,
most of the bad guys are dudes.

You know what controls men best?

Wonder woman's wonder.

Anyway,
If you can see
on your left side in the picture,
Captain Wonder Planet carries some ropes.

Not.

It is a whip.

One of the reason that Wonder Woman was used as a muse *it rhymes*
was because of my love for whips.

I know she doesn't use a whip,
but it look and sometimes works as one.

I even have a whip app on my phone.

You flick the phone and it gives out a whip sound.

If Captain Wonder Planet's
boobs doesn't do the job
of convincing the baddies to stop littering,
she'll whip them
and go all dominatrix over them.

Pick those garbage up you bad boy!!

A story for a song

She sat in the office.
She always has her mailbox browser opened,
She always start working as soon as she gets the mail.
She always finished her work so fast,
She always regrets it
because she's always bored once she finishes her work.

but
she always repeats the cycle.

Now she's waiting for some new work to turn up in her mail,
thoughts just crept up to her.

She's upset
because so many times
he left her waiting for a reply.

So many times,
other things have been more important.

She wonders if he's really ready for this.

Then in her head, a little voice said:
"You're becoming greedy, girl.

First you wanted someone to love,
then you wanted someone who loves you,

now you want more?"

"No."
She answered back.

"All I want is someone who doesn't have a life,
like me,
so we can have a life together."

A message popped up
and she smiled.

He made her sad and frustrated at times,
but when she sees him,
her eyes disappear behind her smile.

I Don't Blog to Earn Money

Because I don't earn money even when I blog. =/


I don't remember when I joined the Nuffnang community
probably since 2009 or 2010
but I've never cashed out before.


It's not that I'm saving it
while waiting for it to grow into a huge sum
then cash out everything and go for a trip


I just never reached the minimum cash out point,
which is RM50.


Assuming I've joined for 2 years,
that's quite sad,
coz there are a lot of people who cash out hundreds every now and then
or at least once
and they joined later than me.


I have approximately RM6 in my "earnings"
because I donated most of what I got to the TLC charity thing.


But
even before the donation I never got more than RM50...
So it's kinda ironic,
poor people giving money to those who are poorer. 
Ok, 
So I'm not really poor,
but I'm not nearly rich either. 
=/


If you have a car to drive around,
you don't have to starve 
you have a place to go back to,
you have a job/get to study,
you should try to help those who are more in need too.
Every Ringgit/cent counts.


Just saying. =/
