H-Artistry Finale 2012

The finale of H-Artistry Trilogy 2012 was held in MIECC on 3rd November.
And I was there!! =D

We got there quite late,
but it was actually just nice
because right after we got through the entrance,
we saw these bad boys coming through.

Block B, one of the performers that night.
They walked right past us.
If I was a crazy fan I could have grabbed one of them.

Their skin were so fair and smooth I feel ashamed. Pffftttttttt.

The way towards the party is draped in red.

The waiting hall this time had DJs spinning,
so it was like a pre-party to warm everyone up.
Drinks were served as usual.

The famous 360 cam.
We didn't manage to take a picture this time because the line was really long when we reached.

The stage right at the entrance.

I was quite excited with the stage.
Because unlike the other 2 H-Artistry stages that were next to the wall,
this one is right in the middle of the hall and can be seen from all corners.

We were in Zone O that night, and the above was our view of the stage.

Block B were the first to take the stage.
Their songs were not bad, and it was unlike other catchy Korean songs.
They spoke to the crowd in Korean though.
I would prefer if we actually understood what they were saying.

I mean,
as performers,
they should actually speak in a language which the audience could understand.

Alexandra Burke was next to heat up the crowd,
and she did that quite well.
It was during her performances when I got carried away.

The Hennessy Berry was so nice
I took a little too many. =X

But hey, we were at H-Artistry Finale yo!!
It's supposed to be wild and fun!!

Another Korean group who performed. EVOL.

I didn't take a lot of pictures that night,
because I suck that way.
So,
I borrowed pictures from my babes.

Me, Charmaine, Kahmon a.k.a Bendan, Hui Min, and Iris, who was the only one wearing white in this pic.
*cough*oddoneout*cough*

And if you're wondering why Kahmon and Iris aren't looking at the camera,
no they're not pretending to be looking away,
they're looking at the flip out screen.

Iris, Charmaine et moi.
I pretty much spend my whole conscious night with these two.
Especially Charmaine.
She was around me all night,
taking care of me.

Kahmon, Iris, me and Charmaine

Unfortunately my plus one went missing the whole night
after entering.
Didn't even bothered to come over and take a picture.
tsk tsk tsk.

I know there are people who are unhappy with the event,
but hey, you can't please everyone right?

To me, the people you hang out with decides how good the party was.
If you have a bunch of great people around you,
you could go on partying regardless the environment.

I definitely had fun this round.
More fun that the previous 2.

At least now when I look back,
I have a lot to laugh about.

This was my first year going to any and all 3 of the H-Artistries,
and I got to know a few new friends, met up with some old ones, and enjoyed myself.
It's a whole new adventure compared to my boring behind-the-desk-life,
and I was really glad I was invited.

Can't wait for the ones next year,
so H-Artistry 2013, yes, all 3 of you, just bring it on!!

Blogging with comic isn't that easy

So you might notice,
I like to draw.

I use to draw a lot on scrap paper when I was in highschool.
Something like this.

Though the above drawing was quite recent,
my old drawings were mostly like that,
only eyes, half a face.

I would cut up the scrap paper at home
and make it into a small booklet tied together with raffia string,
chuck it in my school bag, and bring it to school everyday.

I never finished using any of them.
Because being the typical me,
I keep losing them.

Now I've transferred to drawing on my own face instead.
Because drawing on paper is too mainstream.

Comic version of myself.

I still doodle on the back of receipts sometimes.

You know, because office jobs could get pretty boring sometimes.

As you can see,
my drawing style is a little more detailed + anime version.

Too much details, takes too much time.

I did try to use Adobe Illustrator.

But in the end, it takes MORE time to just do 1 simple panel.
Because I have yet to really learn the skills.

And I suck at matching colours.

I did think of venturing into comic blogging for about 2 weeks.

But the thing about comic blogging
is how to making long, long posts
into short, concise (and funny) stories.

Which is what I suck at.
I need teachers.

Who better to learn all that from
than our rising comic bloggers
Chee Ching and Ernest over a good cup of coffee and some food from CAFFeine?
=D

Nuffnang is holding their first ever Comic Bloggers Gathering,
and Chee Ching and Ernest will both be there to let us bore them with stupid questions.

Like everyone else who wants to go,
I have questions that I want to ask.
I have stories I want to hear.
I have inspirations that I want to get inspired by.

But most of all,
I want to draw on a canvas wall.

Just kidding.

Okay I lied.

I do wanna draw on the canvas wall,
but I want to know their secret (if they choose to share) to success.

How they started and where do they intend to go.
Where will they see themselves in the future?
Animation? Or comic books?

and other questions...

I'm curious.

And also, I want to know if I ever do venture into comic blogging,
who are the competition I need to take out.
Because I could only imagine that the people who are there
are the ones who are interested in comic blogging too.

*flashes knife*

So to bribe you,
here's another hand drawn comic version of myself.
Also drawn on the back of a receipt.

Storytelling through beauty

So,
thanks to JQ, a few of us were invited to this event
by Yuberactive- Storytelling through beauty.

And we were spoiled with Sally Hansen and Rimmel London products to play with!! X)

Mirrors, mirrors everywhere!!

Before the whole makeup thing,
we had a little introduction on Yuberactive and one of the causes they're supporting.
The girl on the right, Jia Yee,
has a project called Little Book Keeper.

They collect books and bring them to an aboriginal kampung in Sabah.
They want to share knowledge with the neglected part of our nation.

The girl in the middle, Joanne, was briefing us on the challenge.
Storytelling through beauty.

The main objective is to unleash your artsy side.
We were to choose a cause,
and do make up according to that cause.

My group chose Wildlife and nature protection.
Because I already know how to do leopard print makeup. =X

After the make up we had our photoshoot
and after that, we get to eat!! YAAAAAAY!!

And while waiting for the judges to deliberate,
I camwhored. =p

With Jennifer the flower face.
and I did a =3 smile.

My leopard prints. ^___________^

The other two babes. Kahmon on the left, and Iris on the right. Gorgeous right? X)
I don't know the girl in the middle. =X

And that day was Iris's birthday.
Her cake was a few Subway cookies.
And she was pretending to blow out the candle coz she blew it out before I took a pic.

Our group got first prize for the mini contest.
It was really fun getting to paint on someone's face.
*smirk*

We were so awesome the camera can't fathom our awesomeness.
That's why it's blur.

Moi, Cindy, and Kate.
I did Kate's make up. She was suppose to be a zebra.

I donut know how to smile...

And voila. Our RM500 worth of prizes.
Had to split it 3 ways though. I ended up with stuff I dun use. XD

It was really great fun.
To know learn new things, know new people,
and paint on other people's face. XD

Thanks Yuberactive and JQ.
Please have more events like this one!!!

That's what J_Fish has to say~ Au Revoir~
p.s. If you have other causes which you want to support,
why not propose it to Yuberactive? =)

Hair Vs Confidence

Everyone perceives hair differently.
A lot of girls actually feel more confident with long, voluminous hair, which they would never cut short.
I always wanted voluminous, flowy, long hair, but just on the head.

Other than that,
meh,
I'll pass.

That's why, I shave, everyday.
Or every other day if I know I'm not wearing skirt or sleeveless. Because I'm lazy.

If you've never tried waxing, and is terrified to go to the parlour,
try Veet.
I never tried it until very recently.

I've only went waxing once, and I did not like it. Not one bit.

But now I never have to anymore!!
DIY waxing babeh!!

First I was quite scared of the idea of waxing again, so I asked Iris how it felt,
and she said and I quote: "it hurts, but it's the addictive type of hurt. :3"

Suddenly Iris sounds like an SM kinda person to me.

But I still got it and tried it, and suddenly... I sound like an SM kinda person to me too.
--_________________--lll

It really did hurt, but 0.5 seconds, because well, you're still pulling hair off,
but it's actually.... fun.

Coz you see all the hair stuck to the strip,
and you get the successkid.jpg look.

Watch these videos on how to use the Veet products.

It really is as simple as it looks.

So after removing the unwanted (leg and underarm) hair
I can feel that my skin is smoother, and unlike shaving, waxing will let you stay hairless longer.
Less worries is good!! No more shaving everyday!!

Honestly,
I'd be shy to raise my arm if I didn't shave on the underarms are...

Now, I can have more confidence to.... show off...?

Time to revamp my clothes!!

So here's how.

Turning a t-shirt into a dress

Just kidding.
That's no longer creative. It's quite old school. Google it, and you can find loads of ideas.

So, tying is so yesterday, sewing is too much work,
what do you do?

Bring out the scissors of course.

Here's the best way to vamp up your unfitting clothes,
you snip the extras off,
just like Veeting off those extra hair.

By cutting, you can have your own unique designs,
unless you stole ideas from people,
if not,
you'll get a one of a kind t-shirt in the end.
^________________^

First,

the before T-Shirt.

Oversized "M"
Being a "quite" petite girl,
M size for men is pyjamas material to me.

I used to have so many oversized t-shirt in highschool
I can have pyjamas for 1 month if mom quit doing the laundry.

Anyway,
time to revamp that T into something that I don't mind wearing out.

Details details details

The collar part,
with cut outs.

The sleeves cut off, excess shoulder part, cut outs.

Could not resist camwhoring!!

So here's how I'll wear it.
First,
wear it with a really cute skirt.

Just my new cut out t-shirt,
a cute skirt, and pumps to look feminine.
I suck at doing hair so I skip that part.

Second look

Oh, look, more details.
I cut out the hemline into a curve,
and made cut-outs along the line.

My newly revamped t-shirt is actually tuxedo themed.
The collar,
and the assymetrical hemline.
See? Seeeeeee?

I wore the top with high-waist shorts.

or you can just wear it as a crop-top with normal cut pants

And with the cut-out details at the bottom, one can simply tie it up at the back,
and show off a little more. *cough cough*

Wear it to the beach, if you're not confident enough to wear only a bikini top,
wear this.
Though they usually don't have mirrors and white walls hanging around, let's pretend I'm at the beach.

But all in all, to be confident is to strut your stuff,
even if you don't have the best to show off.

A little help would be better right? >__________ l

TeAmo- Kepong

So,
have you heard of this new place in Kepong?

If you're a fan of bubble milk tea and natural fruit juice,
you'll definitely love this place,
because they combine both. =)

Introducing~ teAmo!!

I'm sure most of you will go "zing" when you see "buy 1 free 1"
so go and try it while the promotion is still on.

You get to try more flavours. ^_________^

We had a few choices of drinks that day,
which include:

I like something from all of them, and you can really see and taste the pulps of orange.
Fresh fruits and bubble milk tea,
why not right? =p

My favourite among these would be Guava Yakult.
Taste like those yoghurt drinks that you get from supermarket.
It's quite thick and creamy.

Busy preparing the waffles

I think because the waffles were prepared earlier on,
they were soft and didn't taste that nice,
but the ones that we got after that,
the freshly made ones were crispy and really good.

They use 100% milk to make the waffles.
Wafu milky is RM2.50 while the rest are RM2.90 each.

The drinks range from RM3.90 - RM7.90

If you collect ten stamps on the card,
you'll get 1 free drink!! =D

Redeem all the drinks!!

Other than the drinks and wafu,
I actually like the environment of the shop.
It's well decorated with comfortable sofas.

2 pics above are from Jennifer's blog.

Our Miss Sunshine who was crowned on the very same day.

Our little Miss Sunshine
in front of the wall poster which I like alot. =)

Get the drinks and wafu, and choose a seat to chillax at teaAmo. =)
If they opened an outlet in Subang area,
I'd visit it often.

For more info, visit their Facebook page.
