How-to: Get gorgeously soft-skin (especially for lazy people)

I use to be so hardworking when it comes to applying body lotion when I was in uni.
I would apply lotion right after each bath WITHOUT FAIL,
but once I started working...

Time? What time?*

*just an excuse. I have time to apply lotion, I'm just more of a sloth now

But then, I'm not alone!!

A research in Europe has found that two in five people (43%) either occasionally
or never use a body lotion because they don’t have time or don’t like the sticky feeling
Similarly in Malaysia, 70% of women do not apply body lotion every day.

I understand how they feel.
(Because I'm one of them)

I get up later and later for work,
and even though I regret hitting the snooze button every time,
I still sleep in every day and end up rushing like a mad woman to get to work on time.

But since I'm already in a new age category *sighs*, it's time to start really taking care of my skin again.
But I am lazy have no time.

NOT.

"NIVEA launches breakthrough innovation in body moisturization

Now thanks to NIVEA, I'm going to have smooth skin with almost no extra effort.
All I need to do is apply the NIVEA In-shower Skin Moisturizer when I take my bath.

I do it while waiting for my hair moisturizer to set.

Open Crisis

I saw a post opportunity and I took it.

Also, it's Friday!!! And there's gossip.
MUAHAHAHAHA

Just kidding. I saw a friend being cyberbullied. So... I recorded everything "sent to all". =X

I received an email from a company offering a small fee for a 200 character (please note: character, not word) review with 5 photos.

*All names of bloggers, email addresses, and the company name is not shown to avoid future legal actions, which you will read about in the pictures below.

(Click on pics to view in original size. You can continue reading on the subsequent pictures since I didn't add in useful stuff between pictures)

The first email received. Sent to 300+ people, with all emails visible to everyone. Date and time of email is incorrect. Gmail screw up I suppose.

First angry reply.

Second angry reply

Third angry reply

 Final angry reply

And a final clarification email from the said PR/ company.

I have a few things to say before I end this post:

1. PRIVACY is so important to a certain blogger that when "they" reply to all, "they" forgot "they" also spread the emails of everyone to everyone.
In my honest opinion,
just because someone did it first doesn't give you exemption from being punished, you're just an accomplice. Since the person's blog does take money in exchange for blogposts, does it mean said blogger can be charged under the same act which "they" have brought up?

2. No point attacking the person for her PR skills because it does not affect the recipient of the email in any way. I don't think anyone will be terribly affected after reading an email with errors. It just affects the company's reputation, which is none of our business.

3. Grammatical mistakes happen, even for people who are very careful. Before you point out the mistakes of others, please make sure that you constantly practice near perfect grammar. I sent out an email about this incident, proof-read it before and after lunch, and yet there was an error. (If anyone received the email noticed) I didn't realize until a fellow blogger pointed it out to me (in private).

4. Just because you think someone isn't professional enough, doesn't mean you have to stoop low. Being rude to someone who is not rude to you but angered you because of something out of the person's control, is stooping low.

5.Exposing P&C information, especially when you know it's P&C reveals how much a professional you are. NOT.

6. For the final angry reply: Most of the recipients have acknowledged and understood the company involved gives bad rates. So what is the purpose of that angry reply? To show off that you've worked with many companies and have considerably high traffic? Mind you, there are bloggers in the list who are more popular and did not rant about all that.

Or are you just captain obvious in disguise?

7. I believe that every company have the right to set their own guideline for what is considered high/ low traffic count. It's like how everyone has a different perspective of beauty. If you want to tell the company where to set the bar, become a shareholder maybe? =D

8. If you're unhappy with the payment offered by an organisation/ company/ or even an individual, ignore it, reject it, add them into a blacklist and spread it among your friends. Giving the PR a hard time doesn't get you anywhere. It just shows what kind of person you are (psst... Not a nice one).

And finally, to all my dear bloggers,
even if you're angry and must express your unhappiness,
stay classy.

That's what J_Fish has to say~ Au Revoir~
p.s. Constructive criticism is very welcomed.
Those who are burned, too bad.

One post to cover them all- January

This is probably the first time that I coughed for a little more than 4 weeks and spent RM290 on one month for medical fees. Yay. Good start to a new year, and I'm not being sarcastic. If you start your year feeling utterly terrible with a uber manly voice, I guess the rest of the year would just keep getting better!!

So we start with counting down to the new year.
As I mentioned in this post about the final days of 2013,
long story short, I went counting down with my parents.

A nice meal at the cafe at Penang International Airport.

Gotten hair extensions and started painting my nails again.
I used to be have the most beautiful nails among my friend in uni. *cough*
Because not a lot of people do their nails there. lol.
Win without competing. =X

My "laced" nails
It took almost double the time I used to take,
and double redo because my hand is shakier now.

Went bike riding at Shah Alam Agricultural Park.
There are 2 types of bicycles.
The older ones cost RM5 for the first hour and RM1 for every subsequent hours.
The newer mountain bikes cost RM10 for the first hours and RM1 for every subsequent hours.

Th entrance fee is RM3 just to enter the park.
You can choose to jog, walk around, ride a bike, or go to Skytrex.
There are shuttle buses going around if you get tired of walking.

After all the sweating and butt ache, we went to celebrate the old man's birthday in advance.

Happy birthday Mr Yat!!

I had a mini camwhore session because I wanted to test out my look for the company dinner.
The theme was Shanghai Night.

The look for the actual night.

Added a pearl necklace and a furry shawl.
My hair from the back.

Plus one of the night.

I won the Best Dressed Award. =D
A big big thank you to everyone who voted for me!!
Too bad I had a very manly voice because of the cough and couldn't perform.

First ang pao of the year is from the company.

This is how I say "f*ck this sh*t" to eating healthy.

And I found this plaque which I can't agree more with.

*sighs*

And the last day of the month=
the first day of CNY!!

Posted a picture with my dad and a pic with my 2 sisters on Instagram
and it was clear who my friends prefer to see.
LOL

Too bad I didn't take pic with my mom yesterday. =(

It was a good month despite the downside.
I felt so much love from the gang of friends.
You know who you are.

Royals...?

Is it ironic that Lorde is now "royal"?

Lorde, the 17 going 18 girl who shot to fame for a song about anti-materialism in music, is the current music royalty, (which usually is overthrown very soon after, yet, royalty). Can she withstand the temptation of turning herself into living irony?

The thing about materialism is that it's easier to brush it off when you know you can't afford it. That Prada bag? That Berkin Kelly? Meh. Not interested. Because I know even if I could save enough money to get even one of them, big names just don't fit into a small bank account.

The real test of "royalty syndrome" starts when you have the money. If you're from a middle-class family, it's easier to give the "I want a better life for my family" excuse. It's a legitimate reason, of course, but the question is: when do you stop? I think it would usually be when you turn around, you'll realize "oh **** (insert appropriate 4 letter curse word), what have I become?", which is a little too late.

I have a lot of friends and acquaintances who complain A LOT about first world problems. You think your problems are big? Go to an undeveloped country, or even our neighboring less developed countries and take a look.

I didn't take a trip, but I know the pain of some. I help support a child from Vietnam, with the help of World Vision MY. I didn't know what I was getting into at first. I think I heard of it through one of my friends about "adopting" a child, and my favorite question came up: Why not?

I was just earning RM1.8k, with rent, living expenses and bills to fully pay by myself. So I'd like to hear your excuse on not having money.

When I started this "support", I didn't do much research. (Typical me.) But everything is explained plainly in the website. I signed up, and I just had to give RM50 per month, and I'm helping someone. The price has now been increased to RM65, but hey, it's RM15 more. Pretty sure that's just one meal's payment for a lot of city dwellers.

So what did I learn from this child sponsorship?

They're happy to have electricity and running water at home. No kidding. The first annual report I received had this in check. They actually made it a point to report to us that they have electricity and running water in their community.

Meanwhile, in KL, people are complaining about traffic jams and slow internet speed. Look at us.

"First world problems".

Everyone reading this, I'm assuming that you're not struggling financially. You have internet connection, free time, and a gadget to read a blog on. If you could save *RM65/RM80 every month (highly possible), you are able to help sponsor a child, and help an entire community. The money from your contribution goes to the entire community your sponsored child lives in.

You can be part of the solution to the question : What if the answer to cure cancer is trapped in someone who can't afford an education?

If you're saying you can't save up RM65 each month to help a whole community, I don't believe you.

I know for a fact that most of my friends are quite well off. If you stay with your parents and is working a full time job, don't give me crap excuses. Cut down on your entertainment expenses. Buy less Chatime, Starbucks, make up, nail polish, hair products, games, whatever your drug is, and give that blardy money to someone who actually needs it, instead of the huge corporations or over-priced shops.

I'm not judging you for spending all that money. Just saying that it would be nice to help someone with it. Remember that in the eyes of some, we are already living the life of royals.

Maybe I'm giving to help kill that guilty conscious I get when I buy un-necessities, or when I'm eating at an over-priced restaurant; maybe I'm actually just faking the generosity and just want recognition as a nice person; maybe I genuinely want to help someone less fortunate. It doesn't matter, I'm helping. Why won't you?

That's what J_Fish has to say~ Au Revoir~
p.s. Ask me about child sponsorship. Leave a comment or email me at jellyfishseawater@gmail.com, or visit World Vision MY

*RM65 for Asian countries, RM80 for non-Asian countries.

Getting ready for Shanghai Night

Hi.

I've been sick for almost 2 weeks, and not continuously.
I was sick for 1 full week, recovered for about 3 days, and fell sick for another 1 week.
Been to the doctor twice and spent almost RM150, took 12 types of meds in total,
and I'm finally slowly recovering.
For the second time.

There were nights when I coughed myself awake wtf.
I have no idea how it got so bad since I went to the doctor the next day I fell sick.

The upside of being sick: lost weight
The downside of being sick: (other than the obvious suffering): Boobs got smaller.
Sigh.

The downside of being sick when you don't stay with family: you drive yourself to the doctor, and cook your own non-instant food.

So instead of a 3 day long weekend like everyone else, I had 4 days, because I was on MC on Thursday.
But trust me, it wasn't a good weekend.
I had to avoid all oily food and cold drinks, which is basically 99% of outside food.
I avoided going out because the aircond in the car made my cough worse.

I still did went out though.
Out with my sister on Friday because she wanted to try out wedding dresses.
Yes, my sister dearest is getting married.
Sisters are always godzillas.
I argue with my sisters all the time, more with my older sister than with younger sister because of the age difference.
My sister is 3 years older and younger sister is 6 years younger.
So obviously I spent more time with the older sisterzilla growing up.
The thing is, we might argue like we're going to tear each other's faces off,
but after maybe 10 minutes, we'll be talking like normal.
I don't know if boys do that too.

I'm basically quite the "bff" with my younger sister because we don't have much time to hate each other lol.

I even wear her clothes and pretend to be same age as her. =X
Pretend young.

Anyways,
after being stuck at home for almost the whole weekend,
I've decided that I'm wasting too much time doing nothing.
I'm not sick enough to do nothing; not healthy enough to do anything life-changing/ useful,
so I decided to try out some make up and hair do for my coming company dinner.

The theme?
Shanghai Night.

I loathe the idea.
Who would like the idea of having dinner in a cheongsam?
And there's "Best Dressed" competition.
After all the food,
everyone is going to look like pregnant ladies squeezing into cheongsams that might hurt their babies.

Anyway, since the theme is set, I might as well go with the flow.
I already have a cheongsam.
So the deal was to get the props and look more 1920's Shanghai lady/ call girl, depending on my hair and make up.

I tried to go with the lady look of course.
With a fan.
I bought the fan when I was in Bangkok.
It was terribly sunny that day, and we were walking a lot, so I bought it from a stall for 20baht.

Made my nose straighter. I actually have a slight bump on the nose from this angle.

I have brown eyeshadow to line the crease of my eyes,
black gel liner from Kiss Me,
false lashes from Sasa,
lipstick in Red (10) from Bobby Brown.
With blusher too, but it's not really visible.
Contoured the nose with brown eyeshadow.
Honestly, don't waste extra money to get bronzer/ contouring powder if you're just going to contour your nose.
Find a shade of brown eyeshadow that doesn't look too fake for the nose "shadow".

I also edited my nose in all the pictures. My nose and face are not that small/ sharp/ straight in real life.

Lady enough?

 Played with the light.
I like this pic.

I posted a black and white version of this on instagram

And this is the full size and coloured one.

I'm still trying very hard to make my extensions look "normal".
They are real hair, just not mine.
Since my own hair is very, very straight, the extensions look a little off because they're wavy.
The only way to make them "blend" is second day hair, and a curler.

Stay tuned for the full version of the look, since dinner is this Friday.
Hopefully I can find those long pearl necklaces somewhere.
Should I tie my hair up into a bun? Or is this wavy look ok? Tell me!! Please?

That's what J_Fish has to say~ Au Revoir~
p.s. All pictures edited. As usual.
