Tutorial for simple smoky eyes

Yay. Got a request for tutorial for the look in my Black and White post.
Do check it out. =D

Eyebrows- Kiss Me Heavy Rotation eyebrow mascara in 02

Upper false lashes- Kiss Me Heavy Rotation "Doll"

(Found cheaper replacements at Sunway Pyramid's Asian Avenue's falsies shop for RM18 per box.)

Bottom false lashes- Kiss Me Heavy Rotation "Pure"

Colours for the smoky eye:

For eyelids:
Maroon from pink palette
Navy blue from purple palette

For under the eyes:
Light brown from pink palette (above maroon)

Brush:
Sephora's eyeshadow brush

First, start with a dash of maroon on the inner eyelid.

Next,
use the navy/purple.
Make the outer corners darker and gradually move the colour inward.

The shape at the end of your eyes depends on your eye shape.
I made it a lot longer than my eye's end.

Thirdly,
 Add upper lashes

Also, use the light brown on the pink palette
and line the bottom inner corner under your eyes.

Add on lower lashes.

I like to stick it just below my natural lashline
because it gives a wider eye effect.

If you stick it too far from the line,
it'll look very fake though, so be careful.

And voila!

Here you go.
A very simple smoky eye look. =D
Without eyeliner too.

Remember to add some blusher.
I used the blusher (in oblong) from the green palette for the first picture.

That's what J_Fish has to say~ Au Revoir~

p.s. Those palettes are from my Sephora pret-a-porter set.
I don't think it's still in-stock but I'm glad I got it.

Previous week on my Insta

So it was quite an eventful week last week.

Watched Rise of the Guardians.
Totally have a pedo crush on Jack Frost.

Here exhibits me trying to look like a retard with a boomerang mustache.
Because of the Easter Bunny from Australia (a.k.a Hugh Jackman)

It was a good show for kids and those who are young at heart.

Grumpy adults are not advised to watch it.

Got my tickets for Watson's Music Festival
Spend >RM60 on participating brands and redeem them for free.
2 tickets to member zone which is in front of the stage if you're keen enough.
(list of participating brands can be seen on ticket or at the counter)

Updated my blog after a 2 week hiatus.

This pic was part of the NovPhotoChallenge.
It was for day 21, a photo of sunset.
Glad it didn't rain that evening and I managed to capture this
from the place I stayed.

Went back to UM to watch a basketball friendly match by my juniors.
Got the burger from the stall that I frequent when I was in uni.
The guy still remember me 1.5 years after my graduation. =)

Got bored waiting for the game to start and decided to take a picture of my shoes.

My fringe has grown to an unacceptable length.
But I liked how my curls turned out that day.
The day I felt Japanesy.

Random "artsy" shot of my favourite childhood candy
The price has skyrocketed since the last time I bought it.
Then I was told by someone it was overpriced.
But .... I got it at Giant...
I miss the times when it only costed RM1.30.
Now it's RM2.50. Almost double the price. T^T

Slightly soothed my addiction for Starbucks.
What I always order.
Caramel Frappucino with whip cream
The ppl at Starbucks ss2 don't ask for your names.
But... I like my name on the cup.

Friend from high school who went to same uni
asked me to go watch the semis for SUKMUM,
(Sukan Mahasiswas University Malaya).
Her college (what we call our hostels) was in the semis.
Went to watch one match and ended up watching 4
Totally worth it.

No idea who planned the whole game,
but the semis was right before finals.
Meaning the 4 teams in the semis had to play 2 games for that night,
and one of the team had to play 2 games back to back.
And that team happened to be my friend's college team.

Since it was a last minute thing,
I went in my platform shoes,
and stood for 4 hours straight.
But still,
totally worth it.
The boys played really really well.
Congrats to 11th for winning I've lost count how many years in a row. XD

Went out with Jennifer a.k.a Ah Fer/ Furfer who got her .com quite recently.

She was busy being a blogger with her newly bought cam.

Played with my food. --_____--lll Hey Mickey!! It's actually wasabe and the small dishes.

Had my favourite dishes in Ichiban Boshi
which is along the food court at Pavilion on the lower levels.
They have really fresh and tasty salmon.

That is considered eventful for an OL who stays far from the city and finishes work late.
Not much blogger events that I can go to
since most of them are during weekdays at
inconvenient hours for working people.

Vanity in black and white

After I wrote my previous post,
I actually spent time going through my blog.

Checking the most read posts,
and just keep clicking on "older post" (action recommended)
and I'm really glad that despite my way of writing which do not require the need of brain matter
I still have (a few) really supportive readers.

You know who you are.

Anyway,
after going through my blog,
I realize one thing.

I've lost my vanity in this blog.
If you have extra time to burn,
scroll through my blog,
and you'll know what I mean.

And this post is to show people that I'm still an amateur bimbo.
No worries.

Was quite happy with the make up,
but decided while editing pictures that I should just make all of them black and white.

And I loved the result. =)

I actually want to do a photoshoot in the afternoon which involves more landscape,
but my bed won't let me leave.

Recently bought a tripod for my cam.
The storekeeper even asked me out.
But didn't offer to give me a discount.
*scrapes off list*

Ok so it's just a random update.

I'm fine as usual and after cooling down on blogging,
I had more time to do.... nothing.

Seriously, all I've been doing is watching more movies.
=/
But well,
I lack topic to write about.

Thanks for visiting again.

Dress with beaded shoulder-Romp
Plain black dress- online shop which I do not recommend. --_________--lll

Coloured picture will be shown in tutorial post so stay tuned!!

xoxo, J_Fish.

Nah,
feels wrong to not say it, so

The wayward blogger

You might (or might not) have noticed that I've been blogging less.
I usually have at least 1 blog post every week.
And I've had almost 2 weeks of hiatus before this.

The truth is, I finally realized what went wrong (with me)(as a blogger).
And I was busy with work and was quite lazy too.

I got caught up in the blogsphere.

I used to be a very carefree blogger. I write because I want to and because I can.

Then suddenly a lot of events came along,
and I lost my direction and I didn't realize that I didn't know what I was doing.

I didn't like what I was turning into, which is I'm sorry to say, what a lot of bloggers are.
When someone said "every blogger wants to be famous" I finally realize what my problem was.
I was suddenly blogging for the wrong reasons.

My blog views increased 100% over the past 2 months or so,
and I was really glad.
I was accepted into the "blogger gang" and I was invited to events.
I was getting "more popular".

But that made me into more of an attention whore than ever.
I started spamming social media.
I started posting everything on Instagram and Twitter like it was the voice in my head.
I linked all my social media together.
When I posted something, on Instagram, for example, my Twitter and Facebook, and even my blog will be updated

with the same things.

Which is quite redundant after I took a step back and looked.

I was practically hard selling (a.k.a shoving) my life into everyone's life and up their noses.

And suddenly, I realize that's not ME.

I used to be such a privacy loving person.
And suddenly I want all the attention I can get.

I've always known the way to fame as a female blogger, which is what I noticed, has become a trend.
To become a "famous blogger" if you are a girl, you just have to:
1. Be pretty
2. Show skin. A lot. Cleavage will always be good.

If you have the above criteria, even if you lack writing skills or even common grammatical knowledge, people will still visit your blog. Looks matter. Very true story.

Since I'm neither an extremely attractive girl, nor a girl who chooses to show cleavage,
I'm practically "struggling to become a famous blogger".

But then, why? Why am I struggling to become a famous blogger
when I can be "just a blogger"?

Fame and fortune is not what I really wanted when I started my blog.
If it comes, I'm more than glad to grab it,
but if it doesn't, blogging is something I love to do.
I shouldn't be working hard to sell my blog.
(I'm not saying that it's wrong to do it, but I choose not to.)

I shouldn't be trying to befriend the PR to get invites so that I have more events to cover,
I shoulnd't be trying to befriend other bloggers because at one point, they might be able to help me.

I should be a genuine friend. Which is what I was looking for when I first joined the "blogger gang".
I wanted friends instead of someone that can help me in the blogsphere.

The blogsphere is at times, too complicated for me.

You see bloggers, sometimes, saying one thing to you and another on their blog.
They think a product sucks, but they still give it good reviews
because they were chosen to review them.

You see bloggers, sometimes, befriending people
just because they foresee that you can be some sort of use to them in the future.
It's like a "you scratch my back, I scratch your back" kinda thing,
but they don't ask if your back is itchy in the first place.
They scratch it first, and now you "owe them",
so you should do something in return.

I'm not saying that people should take help for granted,
if I helped you, it would be nice to show gratitude. A simple "thank you" would be great.
But I don't expect you to help me in return for my help.
It would be nice if you can help, but it's fine if you can't.

Now, I just want to go back to being "just a blogger".
I will join whatever events I want, write posts whenever I feel like it.
I don't want to instagram whatever I eat, tweet about my whereabouts all the time.
I want to sincerely be friends with people, and I would like the same in return.
I want to know people for the sake of friendship, instead of to get more connections.

I've dropped all links between my Twitter, Facebook and Instagram,
so if you really care, please follow each of them separately.

Blogging shouldn't be stressful, if you really love it.

For those who still chose to come back,
sorry for the lack of cleavage.

So here,
compensation.

Thanks for still clicking on my link.

That's what J_Fish has to say~ Au Revoir~
p.s. If you feel burnt, feel free to apply room temperature water on wound. Don't use cold water because you'll get blisters.

Just a friendly reminder.

I didn't mean to burn btw. Just in case someone terasa.

H-Artistry Finale 2012

The finale of H-Artistry Trilogy 2012 was held in MIECC on 3rd November.
And I was there!! =D

We got there quite late,
but it was actually just nice
because right after we got through the entrance,
we saw these bad boys coming through.

Block B, one of the performers that night.
They walked right past us.
If I was a crazy fan I could have grabbed one of them.

Their skin were so fair and smooth I feel ashamed. Pffftttttttt.

The way towards the party is draped in red.

The waiting hall this time had DJs spinning,
so it was like a pre-party to warm everyone up.
Drinks were served as usual.

The famous 360 cam.
We didn't manage to take a picture this time because the line was really long when we reached.

The stage right at the entrance.

I was quite excited with the stage.
Because unlike the other 2 H-Artistry stages that were next to the wall,
this one is right in the middle of the hall and can be seen from all corners.

We were in Zone O that night, and the above was our view of the stage.

Block B were the first to take the stage.
Their songs were not bad, and it was unlike other catchy Korean songs.
They spoke to the crowd in Korean though.
I would prefer if we actually understood what they were saying.

I mean,
as performers,
they should actually speak in a language which the audience could understand.

Alexandra Burke was next to heat up the crowd,
and she did that quite well.
It was during her performances when I got carried away.

The Hennessy Berry was so nice
I took a little too many. =X

But hey, we were at H-Artistry Finale yo!!
It's supposed to be wild and fun!!

Another Korean group who performed. EVOL.

I didn't take a lot of pictures that night,
because I suck that way.
So,
I borrowed pictures from my babes.

Me, Charmaine, Kahmon a.k.a Bendan, Hui Min, and Iris, who was the only one wearing white in this pic.
*cough*oddoneout*cough*

And if you're wondering why Kahmon and Iris aren't looking at the camera,
no they're not pretending to be looking away,
they're looking at the flip out screen.

Iris, Charmaine et moi.
I pretty much spend my whole conscious night with these two.
Especially Charmaine.
She was around me all night,
taking care of me.

Kahmon, Iris, me and Charmaine

Unfortunately my plus one went missing the whole night
after entering.
Didn't even bothered to come over and take a picture.
tsk tsk tsk.

I know there are people who are unhappy with the event,
but hey, you can't please everyone right?

To me, the people you hang out with decides how good the party was.
If you have a bunch of great people around you,
you could go on partying regardless the environment.

I definitely had fun this round.
More fun that the previous 2.

At least now when I look back,
I have a lot to laugh about.

This was my first year going to any and all 3 of the H-Artistries,
and I got to know a few new friends, met up with some old ones, and enjoyed myself.
It's a whole new adventure compared to my boring behind-the-desk-life,
and I was really glad I was invited.

Can't wait for the ones next year,
so H-Artistry 2013, yes, all 3 of you, just bring it on!!

That's what J_Fish has to say~ Au Revoir~
