I remember when I first started working,
I'd go and buy tidbits in the hypermarket
and I don't take the plastic bags.
(99% of the time)
My colleagues always ask me:
Why don't you take a plastic bag?
Because most of the time
I could carry my stuff in my hands.
I don't need a bag.
I think the thing about some Malaysians
is that they take plastic bags for granted.
"Why not take it? It's free!"
Well even when it's not free, ppl still choose to pay RM0.20 for plastic bags
because they never remember to bring a bag.
No matter how big or small the item is,
how many or how little the amount is,
so many people still take plastic bags like it's their birthright.
Well it may be free,
but do you need it?
What do you do with your plastic bags?
The big ones you can use for trash,
what about the small ones?
They pile up and you know they won't go away unless you throw them away.
Did you know that in some countries,
the cashier asks: Do you want a bag?
In stead of you having to tell them that you don't need one.
Imagine if a cashier didn't give some ppl bags with their stuff here,
they would look at the cashier like he/she is retarded.
Trust me.
If you can carry all the items in your hands,
don't take a plastic bag.
If you know you're going to buy a lot of stuff,
bring your own bag.
Make it a habit to bring a bag wherever you go.
Like I make a habit of being vain. =D
p.s. That's my handmade fake collar. It didn't turn out well, but it was fun making it. =D
