Bkk Day 3- T-Shirt Day!!

I wore the car T that I bought the day before at Chatuchak.

The day we went to Platinum Mall.
IMPORTANT: If you plan to shop at Platinum mall,
go early.
Although most of the websites show that it open's till 10pm,
the shops closed at 7pm when we were there.

Lunch
Steed Meat.
At first I didn't understand,
but then it dawned on me that steed is another way to say "horse".

Taste good actually.
It taste like beef,
but more tender and softer.

 Tea time at Swensen's.
 Fully FULL. =(
Meaning more time to SS!! XD

I bought this T (with Voon). It's the best seller of the shop.
I guess you can guess why.
The post is called t-shirt day coz I bought 3 T-shirts that day.
They have a lot of t-shirt shops in Platinum Mall.

Other than that,
they sell wigs,
bags,
shoes,
accessories,
souvenirs
men/women/children attire,
etc.

Food court is at 6th floor.
Platinum mall is basically the Bangkok version of Sungai Wang,
but if you buy a lot (3 or above)
you'll get wholesale prices.
Of course sometimes you still have to bargain with them.

They usually count 3 things and above as wholesale,
but some shops consider 2 and above,
some shops more.
Ask the shop keeper to be sure.

The shop keepers are not the nicest people,
so don't be offended if they're rude to you.
You're not alone.

 Still at Swensen's
 Fondue!!

I got my first manicure there.
Didn't take any pictures because it was FUGLY.
I can paint better wth.
It was a waste of my 250baht.

But a new experience. =)
If you happen to go there
and wants to try the manicure
(there's only one stall I think, it's by the escalator)
DON'T GO TO THE YOUNGER LOOKING GIRL.

Coz she sucks.

After that we went to Baiyoke Tower II.
The highest building in Bangkok.
Reminds me of Eiffel,
the night view I mean.

Baiyoke Tower II is about 10mins walk from Platinum mall.
Once you exit the mall,
you'll see the tower.
Just walk towards it.

The trishaw auntay
The tut tut on display.
It doesn't say "do not sit".
So we sat. =P

From the top of the tower
There's this LED screen thing on top of the tower

We are this far away from home.
Well I'm probably half the distance away from home,
and Jye Ming is probably 1 1/2 the distance away from home.
Coz it say's Kuala Lumpur.

The top of the tower is revolving by the way
and it was super windy.

If you love Pina Colada~ and getting caught in the rain.

After we got down from the revolving part,
we went to the lounge for the complimentary drink.
Any drink from the menu.
Even if it's alcoholic.

that's what J_Fish has to say for day 3~ Au Revoir~

p.s. Ticket for Baiyoke Tower II is 250baht plus free drink.

Bkk Day 2- Market Day

Breakfast of the day~ Pork Rice
I didn't eat much because I didn't really have appetite....
Cost 40baht.
Not bad.

The stall is just down the road and around the corner of our hotel.

 First stop,
Chatuchak market.
Only opened on weekends.

Suitable for bargain hunting.
^______________^

We took the train (BTS) from Chitlom station to Mo Chit station.
40bahts.

The clock tower of Chatuchak.
Mango sticky rice!!!
A must try.
I can't remember the price,
but I think it's 50baht for 2 mangoes.

Chatuchak is a nice place to shop for everything.
Well mostly clothes, shoes, food, and souvenirs.

Bought this t-shirt there at 80baht.
and this fedora at 110baht.
It's hard to keep track of the places you've been at Chatuchak.
It's practically a maze.
A good maze though.
Every corner there's something to see.

After Chatuchak we went to Pratunam Market.

There's nothing much there,
unless you're into fake branded stuff
and auntay clothes.

We didn't stay there long.

Went back to the hotel,
took our baths and then
FOOT MASSAGE!!

LOL at Susan.
Always aware of the camera.

The foot massage was nice.
I fell asleep halfway through.
200 baht.

Dinner was at a restaurant called Tom Yum.
Seafood dinner!!
No pictures.
=(

Anyway,
after a long day of walking,
we didn't hear any noise at all.

The hotel is nice
without the extra scare.

Complimentary water from the hotel.
After a long day's walk,
cold water in the fridge is very good news.

that's what J_Fish has to say~ Au Revoir~

p.s. Chatuchak is a nice place to shop for stuff.
If you're bargain hunting,
spend more time there.

Pratunam market is a waste of time.
Go have a look only if you have extra time.
It's just like pasar malam in Malaysia
with Thai speaking sellers.

Bkk Day 1- The Panic Day

If you read my previous post,
you'd know that I mentioned the boarding pass that I almost didn't get.

Yes.

I almost didn't get to go on this trip.

It was a graduation trip with the babes.
6 of us
Selina, Susan, Xi Voon, Jye Ming, Shiah and me
went to Bangkok.

The panic day started normal like any other day.
3rd of June.
Our plane was scheduled to fly at 3 something that afternoon.
We met at KL Central,
took the bus to LCCT.
Being poor students,
we flew Air Asia.

When it was time to check-in,
we were lining up
and we were talking about passports.
Selina asked when is my passport expiring,
I replied 15 October,
and the panic started.

I didn't know that we can't leave the country
6 months before the passport expired.

Everyone please take note if it's your second time travelling with the same passport.

If your passport expires in less than 6 month's time,
RENEW IT!

Trust me.
You don't wanna be the one left behind.
You don't even wanna experience that feeling.

We pretended that we didn't know
and hoped the lady checking us in would miss that part.

BUT ALAS,
she has perfect eye sight.
DARN!!

I can't fly!!
It hit me like a rock hurled at 300km/h.
--_____________--lll

She asked me to go to the service counter and see if the people there can help.
OF COURSE I WENT.

But they didn't help.
All the guy said was:
it's stated here at No.2 that you can't fly withing 6 months of expiry.
WTF.
I KNOW THAT NOW!
THE GIRL JUST FREAKING TOLD ME!!!

There was nothing that he can do to help.
Renewing will take about 2 to 3 hours,
which means by then my plane would have reached Penang.

I was kinda calm actually.
Despite being hit by a 300km/h rock.
I decided on the spot that I'll not do anything.
(coz I can't do anything wth.)

We figured if I can get a new passport and fly over later,
everything will be fine.

So I went to ask the ticketing counter,
which is the cheapest flight to Bangkok.
It was the next night at 10.30p.m.
(yes, I remembered this)
and it cost..
wait for it......

No,
really,
wait.

Drumroll

RM427.

SUPER WTF.

I totally gave up at that point.
Even said goodbye to the girls.
XD

Anyway,
they insisted that I go back and ask the guy again,
if there was anything that he can do.

He couldn't do anything.
But the other guy could.
The guy next to him
(I assumed that he was his superior)
told him to let me pass.

YAY!!!!!
(the panic doesn't end here. Wait for it)

Now I regretted not taking down the guy's name.
Should send him a thank you gift from Bangkok.
I'll check their website to see if I can find the list of employee.
(Which is quite impossible)

Anyway,
thanks to that guy,
all of you get to read more about Bangkok.
YAY!!

Now,
the photos.

 Mine, Selina's and Shiah's

 Hello Bangkok!!
 Waiting for the check-ins
 Sawadeeka~
The train "ticket" from the airport to the station near our hotel.
The lobby of the hotel.
We stayed at Ecotel Bangkok.

The rooms were really clean.
A nice place to stay.
After checking in,
we rested awhile and went out again.
To Pat Pong!
The red light district.

Didn't take any photos there.
If I did,
I can't show them here anyway.
--______________--lll
They'll be rated 18SX.

Seriously,
girls,
don't let your bf/husband go to Pat Pong without you by their side.

Same thing goes to the boys.
It's quite dangerous for girls to go there actually.
The people there are just rude and disgusting.
The shop promoters anyway.

The stalls by the road sells stuff that you don't see at night markets.
Example:
Vibrators. WTH. WTH. WTH

After we decided to get out of that place,
we ate at McD.
which is called McThai.

Went back to the hotel after that,
and panic round two started.

When we were about to sleep,
a weird noise started.

3 girls in a hotel room in a foreign land
which produces a lot of horror movie.
When a weird noise starts,
you start getting scared.

It was a whistling sorta howling noise.
--_______________--lll

We called reception
and they didn't help at all.

It stopped after awhile
and it started again.
Went down to the reception
and when the guy came up,
the noise stopped again!!!
It's like it knows when the guy's here.

Since he can't do anything,
We went back to the room and sleep.

We tried.

I kept waking up.
Every hour.

Conclusion:
Pat Pong- Not nice if you're a girl.decent man
Ecotel     - Nice without weird noise.
AirAsia   - Not bad
McThai   - Medium sized sets are large Malaysian sizes.

that's what J_Fish has to say for day 1~ Au Revoir~
p.s. I miss ya'll already. =(

Land!

Hey peeps!

I'm still here!I'm still here!!
Don't worry.
I'll be back on track tmr (if I still have energy after the bus ride)

I went on a trip from 3rd to 7th June.
Just landed a few hours ago.
and I've already went to midvalley and bought more stuff.
FTSH.

Again,
for now
I'm just gonna slap on a photo and call it a post.
(coz my lappy is not with me and I can't transfer the other photos)

WAIT FOR ME!!!
The boarding pass that I almost didn't get.

that's what J_fish has to say~ Au Revoir~

p.s.

1.
There are freaking so many cute guys in Bangkok!! Now I know why there are not so many in KL/Penang.
*sniggers*

2.
Some French (I think) said I look like typical Japanese. WTH.
(I think they're French coz they were speaking French. Could be Canadian.)
Anyway,
I don't freaking look like typical Japanese ok.
How many Japanese girls have short hair like mine?!

They say I have the typical short-hair-wide-eye-blue-contacts-look.

But I don't know any Japanese with short hair like mine.
>________________<

3.
My "6 packs" are crazy hurting.

4.
I have so many feeling running through me right now I don't even know which are the real ones.

Don't ask.
I'd like to go through this by myself.

安静……了。Silence......d
