i think i juz encountered my worst nightmare as a shopaholic...
i went shopping with my sister for some beachwear and stuff. (going to tioman this raya holidays!!! YAY!!!) then i saw this swimsuit that's really nice (can't rmb the design)
so i asked the promoter how much is this? she said RMxxx (can't rmb the price) and i replied after discount? no discount. i thought we're in the sale season? and the salesgirl and my sister both said:
"it ended last week week weekweekweek...".
*echoes and fades off...*
the end of nightmare.
i guess i'm having this dream coz 1. we are in the sale season 2. can't wait to go tioman!!!
I've been really lazy to update my blog this sem. unlike last sem when i updated twice or thrice a day.. --_____________--lll i have less credit hours= more free time...(?) i even on fb less.
i don't know where my time went. maybe now i spend more time chatting... chatting is the new important thing to do for me.
and redbox. XD
went 2 days in a row and was happy with both.
especially today.
ended really well.
because you loved me~~~~
(never thought i would sing a Celine Dion song in RB)
from a wat? would probably come to your mind when you see the title.
A Valedictorian is the best student to graduate from an educational institution. (probably high school, college or uni) probably would have a few of them. they usually give the speech during the graduation ceremony.
this is her speech that i found on youtube.
ok, it's long, so i'll sum it up for you into a sentence.
"schools should focus on learning more than on getting good results."
spot on~!!!
and that coming from a valedictorian.. is real good.
i do think that the current educational system is not effective.
how are we supposed to learn if we're forced to take a subject that we're totally not interested? subjects that has nothing to do with our future prospect that is.
but if you're not interested in simple math you still have to learn it
coz u'll use it almost everyday.
i never really liked (Malaysian) history. it doesn't really talk about the history of Malaysia. most of it is before Malaysia.
and obviously not a lot of ppl learn from history
coz it keeps repeating itself.
the sultans' names are almost the same.
i know kings of England and France have the same name too,
but at least they number them.
why would the exact year of which events happen be important?
i think we should focus on what happened, not when.
idk bout you,
but after studying for economic for 4 years,
i find that i like the subject a lot,
coz it's all about logic.
and logic is what i'm good at.
*high five to susan*
same goes for science.
i love science.
the science that i studied anyway.
the thing is, the Malaysian educational system focuses on how good you are at memorizing the "formula" to answer the questions during exam. like if you have these key words, you get points, if you say the same thing without the key words, no points will be give.
so exams are to see how good u r at memorizing, not understanding.
and the point of exams are.....?
my high school actually has an (unwritten) rule that every student has to take at least 10 subjects for SPM. (and score). but if they let us choose what we like and the number of subjects, and and focus on them we'd do better no?
i took economics and accounts for SPM, (still) took economics (compulsory in my school for "arts" students) [no idea why we're called are students when we don't study arts] (we don't have real art students in form 6 anyway) bussiness, and Mandarin for STPM.
ended up not needing any of them. so my form 6 years are seriously meant for getting into a uni. which luckily i did. (and i didn't work hard till a month before exam) it's not that hard coz all we have to do is memorize how to answer the questions. no thinking involved.
if we can choose to take only what we wanna study we would probably all be straight A students. no?
you know, the film starring and directed by Leehom.
normally, i watch chick flicks (especially those with super idols) in cinemas unless:
1. i have no choice 2. i'm not paying for it
i was in both situations.
when your ever busy sister calls and ask to watch a movie with her you can't say no. especially when it's a chick flick and she can't really ask her bf. (not to mention it's in mandarin and her bf's a banana... shh...) it would bore him to his bones i guess.
and i get to eat and watch a movie foc. she brought me to Ding Tai Fong for dinner wor...
the xiao long bao
tofu (Mr J.o's favourite. XD)
with seaweed on top and mushroom at the side.
i seriously think that movie is a funny chick flick. still a chick flick, but funny. (well which chick flick isn't...)
go watch if u like chick flicks. (and if someone else is paying)
anyway, i like the song.
你不知道的事 (things you never know)
like this song. easy to follow. but i think it's kinda Jay Chow-ish. the way he sings anyway.
another song that i'd like to talk about...
love! from Hebe of S.H.E
i think it's a really unique song. it's not a kind of song that you'd sing in a contest but it's a great song to listen to. kinda like some of Faye Wong songs (if ya'll still remember her)
i like her voice lots. very clear and erm.. pure?
that's wat J_Fish wants to say~ Au Revoir~
p.s. yesterday was my first basketball training after stopping for idk how many months... now my body's aching like i juz the day after i finished the Penang Bridge half marathon.. --_____________--lll
well i did a lot of exercise yesterday *ahem* i believe that i'm getting thinner. which is.... bad...?
