Memories from Paris (part 1)

So,

after more than 2 years from my trip to France,

I've finally decided to take time to do a few posts about Paris. 

I can't remember much of our itinerary,

but I'll just add captions to the pics

as of how I remember them. 

First,

A walk in Jardin du Luxembourg.

It was cold,

and there was nothing there.

We just went in a little,

and walked out again. 

No captions needed for the next few pics. 

But,

One does not simply go to Paris 

and not take pics of La Tour Eiffel. 

Now you see me

That was a boat on La Seine

with La Tour as the background. 

I was standing on one of the many bridges. 

Next,

Photobomb level:

Toilet sign. 

The nearest to the top of La Tour Eiffel I've ever gotten. 

This was taken from under the tower. 

Notre-dame du Paris on  

a carousel in Paris,

how more beautiful can it be?

And the infamous 

Moulin Rouge.

We didn't go in. (Unfortunately)

But from the outside,

you can see pictures of the "dancers".

Voulez-vous coucher avec moi? =p

Sacre-coeur.

 The back of the Lady of Liberty

of Paris. 

 She was quite a long walk away from the Eiffel Tower,

but I just had to see her.

No idea why I didn't take a pic of the front....

There's actually another replica of the Lady

in the Luxembourg Garden,

but we didn't go deep enough to see it,

and I didn't know until I was back here. 

So that's all for part 1.

Part 2 will be more on daytime pics

and the other side of Paris.

BR queue up= cheapskate?

I believe if you're a Malaysian, you'd know about the Baskin Robbins event.

If you're not, well basically Baskin Robbins gave out free scoops of ice-cream from 8-10pm on 8/8/2012.  One scoop for one person that is.

I read how so many people laughed at the "dumb" and "cheapskate" who queued up for the one scoop of ice-cream.

Because these people have never been really poor, they can never think from a poorer person's point of view. If I never had the extra money to splurge on expensive ice-cream in my life, I would queue up for that free scoop. If I never earned enough money to bring my children to BR before, I would queue up for that.

I saw pictures and captions saying:"Never had ice-cream before". I'm sure they've had ice-cream before, but not everyone can afford BR, there's finally this chance, so why not? Got that through your arrogant head now? Just because you have the money to get it, doesn't mean everyone else has that privilege.

I read people walked pass the queue, paid for their ice-cream, walked off and bragged about how smart they are for beating the queue. Do you know how stuck-up you sound for bragging about that? If you have the money and would rather pay for it than queue up for it, by all means, do it. You don't need to brag about how "smart" you are for not going to queue up.

So before calling others "beggar" or "cheap", think if they really deserve it.

If you called those people "cheap" or "beggar", shame on you. Not everyone there deserves to be called that. Of course there really are "cheapskates" who can afford it but still chose to queue up, but they don't hurt you for queuing up, so why do you care? Unless you're the one who couldn't afford it, then I feel sorry for you. 

If you went to queue for it but caused traffic jam by parking your car where you shouldn't, double shame on you. Because you caused traffic jam for something that you can afford. 

I know it's hard for privileged people to think from a poorer person's point of view, but at least don't be rude.

Tired, once in awhile

Found this pic while browsing through my old pics

Made me miss my old life. 

Every once in awhile I feel tired,
like I want to runaway from my life,
but

I was quite enjoying my life until last weekend.

I finally had more friends who I can hang out with,
despite losing someone so dearly.
I'm recovering.

I didn't know that I needed a vacation,
but I unintentionally took one
and I realized how much a simple getaway could do.

Met 2 new really nice friends in the process
thanks to Choulyin.

Colours on the eyes

Crazy about eyeshadow.


Wanted to include a few colours for this post
so here you go.

Purple

Blue. I love the mix of tones. =)

Grey

I've finally found the way

to make a smokey eye look that works for me. 

Yellow. The colour isn't really obvious here

coz my skin is more towards yellowish.

It would rock if it's on people with really fair skin. =)

Yellow with a touch of green under the eye. 

I've been quite obsessed with eyeshadow
but I don't think people here appreciates my style of applying eyeshadow.


Wanted to include a few colours for this post,
and I had fun taking pics.


The reason I show only 1 eye in most of my pics
coz I usually just do the make up for 1 eye and I get lazy. =p


I bought a fan/ring light/torch light.

So now I have something like a ring light. =D
It's about 15cm tall and very light,
so I can carry it around to change angles.

I actually have my phone in one hand

and the light in the other

to get this pic.

Took a few pics,

but I love the effect. 

=)

You can see the light reflected in my eye.

So for those of you who haven't seen me recently

I've taken off my extensions.

They started to stick together and caused my hair to tangle

near the roots

which drives me crazy.

I initially wanted to take them off

untangle them

and put them back,

but after the hairdresser took them off,

I think my hair is fine

because I dun have a reason to have long hair anymore,

so I kept my original hair length instead.

To celebrate the liberty of my scalp,

I had a narcissistic "photoshoot" for myself.

I call it

Wa suka. 

I think I look nice with short hair too.
So what if I'm a narcissist?


Everyone deserves to be loved.
